October 19, 2017 I called the Racquet Club office to get information regarding renting the clubhouse. The referred Shannon Hisle who was someone who rented the space from them, and I would need to contact her for the information regarding the club house.

I spoke to a Shannon on October 19, 2017 and she shared rates and information regarding renting this space for May 5, 2018. I purposely searched far in advance because that weekend is not only Derby Weekend but UK Graduation Weekend. I knew things would be filled quickly so 6 months notice was appropriate. Shannon took my down payment for May 5th, 2018 On October 19th 2017 via a electronic PayPal payment. She mailed me the receipt and we had this venue locked in for my daughters UK Graduation for Derby Day 1P-5P

Months pass and on January 27, 2018 we decide to look at the website to plan what food we wanted Shannon and her catering business to provide. We noticed the website is completely down. I text Shannon on Monday January 29, 2018 and she told me that The Racquet Club had thrown her out this week, changed the locks and she no longer has her business. She said she would refund the money but that is hardly the problem here. I asked her when she was going to notify us and she avoids the question all together. She blamed the Racquet Club and said she only had a very short notice to get out.

Doing some research online and contacting the Racquet Club directly Shannon had to close the Bar & Grill back in September yet she was still taking payments well past the bar and grill closing. The Racquet Club was referring Shannon well after the bar and grill closed. Shannon says it happened the 3rd week 1/25/18 of January but her Facebook posts for the Bar and Grill contradict her excuses via text as to why the space was no longer available.

This is terrible business regarding The Racquet Club and Shannon Hisle. She did refund the $100 but that is honestly not the point here. Now as a parent I’m left scrambling to find a new venue when these parties should have never sold their services 4 months ago. I could never imagine doing business this way!

I asked Shannon once again, WHEN WERE YOU GOING TO TELL US? She only made an excuse that she was contacting those who were booked before our venue date first. She has taken no accountability regarding the issue she has created for us, when reality she was selling a service she couldn’t provide and she knew this well before she took our money and led us to believe we had a locked in reservation for this venue. I have reciepts, screen shots and documentation of all of this I have shared here.

The Racquet Club should have never referred Shannon and when I asked them for the name of the owners of the Bar & Grill Samantha who says she’s an office manager tells me she can’t get involved although her office is the ones who referred me to Shannon Hisle. The Racquet Club is taking absolutely no accountability for this issue either.

Talk abou a RACKET CLUB... Totally unprofessional and I can’t even imagine how many people who think they have upcoming reservations for The Racquet Club Bar & Grill who are going to be deceived and no one will care to communicate to them that Shannon is selling a service she can’t provide and The Racquet Club could care less.

I’m contacting my attorney today and someone will be held accountable for this counterfeit business causing a lot of chaos. Now it’s just a few months until UK Graduation and Derby weekend our chances of finding a venue have been cut by 4 unnecessary months because of deception at the hands of Shannon Hisle.

I honestly wonder when she was going to tell us if we didn contact her? We already purchased UK Graduation invites which is a huge expense. Shannon refunding the $100 is only fixing he amount we spent to reserve this venue but it’s NOT compensating for the deception, and the emotional stress that will now come with figuring this all out with not much notice.

Thanks Shannon Hisle and Racquet Club. Word of mouth goes along way and I will never refer you all to anyone I know, ever. As I already stated I will be contacting my attorney. Hopefully this message will enlighten others who might also be innocently taken advantage of and deceived.
