Observed 11 cans of food items that had past their expiration dates. These items were removed by manager at the time of this inspection.
Observed cappucino mix stored in cabinet in a grocery store bag.
Observed missing wood panel above slushy machine. Replace. Observed seal to the walk in beer cooler torn on right side of the door. Replace. Observed freezer blower in ice cream and pizza freezer that is leaking water all over the floor and onto food products. Repair.
Observed debris accumulation in all the cabinets under the soda and coffee machines. Wash, rinse, and sanitize these surfaces and ensure routine cleaning.
Observed several boxes of cups that were stored on the floor. Observed 2 plastic sleeves of cups stored on the floor. Ensure all single service items are stored 6
Observed rodent droppings in all of the cabinets under the soda and coffee machines. The facility manager, Pete, stated that he has not seen any pests.The facility has a current contract with Superior Pest Control and was last serviced 6/18/15. Discussed cleaning and pest management with manager and recommended that the pest control company is made aware of the rodent problem so that they may specifically treat for this issue. Gave facility information on integrated pest management.
Observed several lights in coolers that were not on/operational. Repair or replace bulbs.
Observed broken light shield in beverage cooler. Replace.
Observed clear liquid in a Windex bottle. The manager was not sure what the liquid was. Ensure chemical bottles are not re-filled with a different chemical. Bottle was discarded by manager at time of inspection.
Observed chemical spray bottle that was not labeled. Ensure all chemicals are labeled. The contents of the spray bottle was discarded by manager at time of inspection.
Facility is a Category 3 facility and was hot holding food in a warmer. The facility is not permitted to hot hold foods. I explained the category differences to the store manager and discussed what would need to be done to become a Category 2 facility. The 2 sandwiches that were being hot held were voluntarily disposed of by the store manager and the warmer was disconnected.
