Marco Dog Park

The Marco Dog Park is the first of its kind in the town of Roseville. It opened in 1997 and was named for a dog that was part of the Roseville K-9 unit who was shot during a drug raid the year before. The park includes three fenced acres, so dogs have plenty of room to run off-leash at the park. Dogs do need to be licensed and up-to-date on their vaccinations before playing at the park. If a dog is sick or in heat, they are not permitted in the park. There are benches for dog owners, as well as a water fountain, wading pool, and trees offering shade. Dogs occasionally show aggression when surrounded by dogs they are unfamiliar with, so be sure to bring your leash with you and keep an eye on your dog at all times so you can intervene if a situation occurs. Owners need to clean up after their dogs to ensure the park stays clean and healthy for everyone. The park is open seven days a week, but closes on Thursday mornings for maintenance. There are seasonal closures during winter when the weather is bad. A few of the things owners and dogs love about the park are the abundant seating options, the climbing areas, and the trees and bushes so your dog can hide. Unfortunately, large and small dogs are mixed together without a separate area for the bigger dogs.
