Poetesses,Georgian blogs and imaginary elopements
Want to have a nice navy blue print regency dress made for myself - probably through this little business as awful as their logo and font is (I don't like bad fonts) they seem very talented,or maybe some empire style white nighties.
I spent the afternoon yesterday reading about the poetess Líadan and her sad love story with Cuirithir,oh how I love Celtic lovers legends. Her poem about their parting is really beautiful, another one to go on my lovers legends blog.
I tried to dream up historical novels yesterday, but ended up just penning my usual ideal lives of soup making, cottages, babies and christmas.Have I said how much I love every kind of breakfast - oh I adore it.
Perused the very interesting pretty blog of Laura Purcell this morning, while I do love the Georgian era it's really very elegant and cosy, I've never been much into royalty. I'm much more into the peerage, their wealth never interests me much, usually I am concerned with the ancestral lines, the heraldry, and the history and odd legends of the estates.
I also had some fun yesterday planning out my pretend elopement on Pinterest like many women are wont to do.I chose rosemary, sage and white roses for my bouquet - all my favourites, and a homage to my oma(grandmother) who use to wash her hair in Rosemary. For me every little detail in a wedding would have to be sacred and meaningful and I really don't understand these people who have weddings themed on television shows.
I decided I would marry in Buckland,Gloucestershire, the village of my fifth great grandfather at the manor house there - Buckland manor.I have been reading about one of its occupants this morning Mary Delaney who wrote of her wedding day to a decrepit old man "Never was woe drest out in gayer colours".Heritage would be the overriding arch of my little elopement with a little hint of Russia.
Am going to start posting these entries into a real blog called 'wistow cottage' with pretty pictures very soon, because I look many times for cosy little nooks on the web and never find them.
