Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken.
Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Street Barbecue? Well, It Could Work....

During my Saturday work lunch break, I ventured out to McDonald's for a quick bite. Once that was done, I took a local side street to get back to the office.
That being said, lo and behold, your writer saw something unusual. In fact, it was the second time and not the first time. That's because I remembered the last time I saw this thing happening, but somehow.........................well, forgot.
The 'thing' is a gentleman stopped in the right lane of eastbound Regent Parkway in Irving, Texas. He was out of his small truck, and he's standing there, smoking some barbecue in his portable smoker. That's right, right there in the street. What I'd forgotten was, I've seen this sort of thing before, and there were a few people lined up to get some 'cue.............right there in the street. Saturday, however, there was no line yet. But I'm sure that, if I'd stopped and hung out there, then I would sure see a line of folks just waiting for whatever smoked meat our guru had going.
If I'm crazy, and sometimes I am, I may just travel that specific lane one Saturday, and see if I could get some barbecue there, yes, right there in the street. You never know.
