Now that your unpacked and got to test drive the area for a bit, encountered some locals and yokels, and hopefully some actual people that moved to the area from your home town or state its time to list the likes you have of your new or semi-new, or heck if the area is your native home than by all means and ways list what you like! Y'all got it? Well here goes!

Weather! You like or not!
Year round flowers!
Long springs!
Longer Autumns!
Shorts year round! For the hearty ones that is.
Variety of sub divisions to chose from!
Snow is a neat event versus a ho-hum not again event!
No rust on older cars! Amazing if your from the Northeast!
Can fish year round without cutting holes in the water (ice) for us North Easterners!
Pretty country side is usually only 5 minutes or less from where you live anywhere in the triangle.
People R People. No matter what they say!
Day trip to Mountains!
Day trip to Ocean!
And in a lot cases no trip at all to the many lakes, ponds, river, and streams that spot the area!
Good food can be had by all and more is always welcome irregardless if they are called viddles or pickins!
Out away from the city lights the sky at night explodes with the many stars that fill the emptiness of space with the occasional flying star to catch a dream or two on!
Groceries can be cheaper but we all have to eat!

Sure it takes time to get use to this place, remember the place you came from was called home and that is never a easy place to replace! But give it time, explore the area and get involved and this place too will be your new home not only in name but in feeling!

May the triangle, RDU, RTP, Crossroads, the Quay, Wake Forest, Knightdale, Apex, Raleigh, Durham, Zebulon, Oxford, Mossisville, Franklinton, Youngsville, Chapel Hill, Henderson, ...seems like I am forgetting somewhere....????......Oh yea! and Cary, be with you!

Oh Tarheels! I forgot to number the above as I did say I would count thy ways!

Wake Forest, NC. located in Wake County NC. Some call it Wake's Forest of the Triangle....Ok maybe that's just me. But if you come from the North East, Wake Forest seems to fit. It has some rolling hills and many farming areas.

It has a small town feel but close to Raleigh, you could be down town Raleigh, depending on time of day in about 15 to 30 minutes. You can be at the Virginia border in less than an hour.

It has old Historical homes and some new subdivisions. It certainly worth a look see if your looking and seeing the area. It has transplants from New Jersey, New York, and many other NE State and Mid West and California and....well you get the idea people from all over this great country now calls Wake Forest home!

C'mon down, over, left, or right and check it out you may just like what you see.

Friday April 19, 2013 and its a cloudy 69.3 degrees outside with a day of thunderstorms taking us up to 84 degrees. This past week had temperatures closer to early summer than spring. Low to Mid 80's, sweet!

This weather certainly reminds me of days as a kid grabbing my bike and heading out for a ride. No particular destination in mind. No water bottles, no food just me the bike and a lot of city streets. The city I grew up was in the rolling hills of Pennsylvania, so there were many hills within the city. We lived down towards the center of the city, which was the river plains area. The river ran by one edge of our city. so heading in the rivers direction was no bid deal. Heading away from the river meant hill after hill after hill. Thank goodness for 10-speed bikes! Shift into gear 1 and head up the hills. The elementary and high school I attended were both on top of hills a few blocks from our homes. So the term, its all down here from here had a real meaning to us. It meant the school day was over and we were headed down hill to our homes.

Let me tell you trudging up hills in the morning to school got the blood flowing and we were always awake in our morning classes. But this story is about a typical bike ride we would take. We would head up the hills and head to a city part to maybe shoot some hoops, hits some baseballs around or just hand out on the park and look for friends. Sometimes, we would just ride and ride and ride and ride. We would find open fields that were former coal mining remnants. There would be acres and acres of black rock. No quite coal and no quite rock. no much would grow on it accept White Oak Birch trees. For some reason the trees found the soil acceptable. Anyway, there would also be a stream that wound its way around this acres of black rock.

We would park our bikes and walk the stream not with any purposes but just for something to do. We would flip rock to find crayfish or on some of the bigger pools of water there would be little minnows. Growing up in the city we did not have a lot of outdoor places to go but this one seemed to be pretty cool. This area was not to far from my cousins house so when we would stay up there we would take our bikes and a shovel or two and head down to the creek. We would ride our bikes along the creeks edge till we got back in the wooded area.

Here we would be come Civil Engineer and dam the creek up. Once our foot or so high dam was constructed we would head back to my cousins to jump into his swimming pool or get a drink of water or soda. Which now reminds me of my cousin with the cast iron stomach! He would say I bet I can drink anything in the refrigerator. We would say, so. Well he would open the refrigerator and take a gulp of Milk, soda, water, orange juice, grape juice, pickle juice, and sometimes top it all off with the gulp to Ketchup or yellow mustard all in succession! Obviously where he got his nick name as a teenager as 'Psyco'! He could do all that and never throw up! Amazing!

Anyway, after a couple of hours we would grab our bikes and head over to the creek. Sometimes the dam we made was filled to the top while other times it would be busted before we go there. Anyway, when it was not busted we would bust it and watch the foot high wall of water flow down the creek like a torrent of swift moving water. To a 9 and 10 year old kid that was pretty cool stuff! We would follow the wall of water down the creek as long as we could or until it basically leveled itself out. After that rode the bikes around his neighborhood for awhile and then headed back to his house to dive back into his pool!!

Monday April 22, 2013 and its 37.7 degrees outside and heading up to 64 party sunny skies! What a wonderful weekend! My body is letting me know it. Really got lucky that it was nice and cool this weekend as I got a lot done outside around the property. Got a truck load of wood chips delivered Friday afternoon, and between Friday evening and most of Saturday moving it about to the various flower beds we have. One wheel barrel at a time! No wood chip is moved before its time! I think I heard something like that before....

Yesterday was spent mixing up some bags of Sakrete to make a sidewalk and laying some concrete pavers to form a sidewalk on one side of our home. Its a side that does not get much sunshine so can't grow grass there so came up with a landscaping theme that used wood chips, concrete, and concrete pavers. Should be just the cats meow for that space! It was the perfect weekend for the nightly bonfire but just didn't do it....Maybe tonight as I have to pop the forms off the concrete pad.

Also, did get to spend a bit of time in the garden. Its growing really well. Garlic is about a foot high. Brussel sprouts and Asparagus are growing nicely. Radishes, carrots, and spinach is growing nicely. The corn is about 2 inch high so far and the cucumbers are growing along. The Basel is sweet and the parcel y is dense! The Dill is little dill at the moment. I planted the dill this year because I want to make some pickles. Still have some space left in the garden and deciding what else to grow. Oh year the tomato plants are growing well too. As an Italian how could I have forgotten the tomatoes?

And here we are now at Monday, the start of the school week, work week, or retirement week, or just starting a new week. No matter where you are in your life that the start of the week finds you there is always time to give thanks to the one above that got you here. Through him all things are possible and without him all things are meaningless. So to add meaning to you, I wish you a happy and joyous week, complete with challenges and accomplishments, with the sense that you are loved by a power greater than all of us. To the one above you are without equal and shine brighter than any star in the heavens, are worth more than any Gold one may ever possess. In that I wish you a special week!

Quote of the day from Alexander Graham Bell:

" When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one that has opened for us."

Happy Monday and Happy are you!!!!!

Tuesday April 23, 2013 and its 48.3 cloudy degrees heading on up to 68 degrees. Clouds may dissipate a bit to let some sun hit the concrete pad I made over the weekend. The forms came off last night and the dirt and stone was back filled around it. Looks good too!

Speaking of looking good. That is what our old shed did growing up. Everyone on their small city lot had a wood shed. Made of wood. In these sheds was everything and anything people did not want to keep in their homes. Ours was not exception. The lawn mower, garden tools, vacation items, such as coolers, chairs, etc. , all in the shed. The outside of our shed matched the outside of our house until our house was covered with white aluminum siding. The ultimate house covering in the day! No more maintenance required! It took the contractor about a week to cover our home.

Little did Dad know that his work was about to begin as the contractors ended. Mom decided that the shed should be match the house once again! So Dad took the left over siding from our house and added some more he picked up somewhere and covered the outside of the shed with white aluminum siding. That looked good too! To this day the house and shed are still coated with the white aluminum siding! Never painted, just power washed a few times. In fact tow roofs were put on the house and shed and the siding was just fine! Today, Aluminum was replaced by vinyl which is lighter, cheaper, and the color is right in the raw material. Progress!

Also, speaking of work....I get multiple tons of stone delivered this week to spread on the driveway and around my shed. Stay cool my friends, stay cool!

Wednesday April 24, 2013 and under some bright sun its 57.7 heading on up to 79 degrees. Beautiful! Just like the day! The stone has arrived and yesterday evening got through about 7 ton of it. Spread and raked where it needed to be. Tonight should get the rest spread before the rains come a calling! It certainly was a beautiful evening to do almost anything outside.....my choice was filling wheel barrel after wheel barrel with crushed stone and spreading it where it needed to go.

That is where my physical body was but mentally I was sitting on the banks of Falls Lake with a line or two in the water watching the sun fall over the horizon to close out another day. There is nothing like a sun rise or sun set. The bright burning globe ever so slowly appearing to fall almost off the end of the earth...bit by bit and as to hang on the daylight goes to dark ever so slowly after the sun is no longer visible to us. Awesome power granted to us from the one above.

Quote of the day from Annie Dillard:

" No; we have been as usual asking the wrong question. It does not matter a hoot what the mockingbird on the chimney is singing. The real and proper question is: Why is it beautiful?"

Thursday April 25, 2013 and its a cloudy 57.1 degrees outside and when the clouds clear it will be 66 degrees. That's nice! Everyone once in a while we come across a reading or see something that makes us think. This week I came across such a document, simply titled, 'My Friend'. I want to share it with you as its meaning is simple and its results are profound. So without further babbling......by me of coarse.

My Friend, I stand in the judgement now.
And feel that you're to blame somehow.
On earth I waked with you day by day.
And never did you point the way.
You know the Lord in Truth and Glory.
But never did you tell the story.
My knowledge then was very dim.
You could have led me to him.
Tho we lived together on earth.
You never told me of the second birth.
And now I stand this day condemned.
Because you failed to mention Him.
You taught me many things, that's true.
I called you, "friend and trusted you,
But I learn, now that it's to late,
You could have kept me from this fate.
We walked by day and talked at night,
And yet you showed me not the light.
You let me live, and love, and die,
You knew I'd never live on high.
Yes, I called you 'friend' in life,
And trusted you through joy and strife.
And yet, on coming to this end,
I cannot now call you "My Friend!"

The above will suffice as the quote of the day and also the thought of the day.........have you really been someone's 'friend?' It certainly made me think about my friendships with folks...

Happy Thursday, a day closer to the weekend! Hot-diggity-dog!

Friday April 26, 2013 and its full sun 49.4 degrees outside heading up to a pleasant 72 degrees. Now that's the start of a pretty Friday! On top of that great weather news I am also report that all the gravel has been moved to its final destinations! ....and not a sore arm, shoulder, back, and leg to soon I might add.

A fine weather day like today growing up in Pennsylvania was pretty awesome until it was time to get ready for school. It was a double whammy when it was a Friday school day. We trudged up the hills with our jackets on and hit the playground for a quick game of tag awaiting the school bell. Once the school bell went off it was like cattle being heard ed into our assigned corrals.

We would mosey into the coat room to hang up our jackets and mosey all the slower to our assigned seats. There was a day or two where the teacher utter they we moved slower than snails, and reflecting back.....yea she was right! Once in our seats it was time for roll call. Name after name was read aloud to the sounds of 'here', 'yes', 'yea', and an occasional 'Buhler', 'Buhler', 'BEHLER!'....'here'! Than it was stand up for the pledge of allegiance and a moment or two of silence. Earlier school years it was for prayer but my later years of elementary school it just became a moment of silence.

Than out came the books from under the desk lid. Math, Science, History, and English (Phonics), all the while our eyes were transfixed out the window and our minds were still in the playground. We would be snapped back to reality when the teacher would call on us to read or do a math problem on the chalk board. A chuckle or two could be heard when someone was called upon that was still daydreaming out the window and it took them to hear their name a couple it time before the alarm went off in their mind that said, 'Hey! Wake up, your on!'. These were the days when we did not have snack time or school lunch. These were city neighborhood schools, where we went home for lunch or to a near by relative or just stayed outside in the schoolyard. In fact our elementary school had three entrances and no a single one was locked during the school day. At that time kids came to school as they had to and adults had been there and done that so they stayed away! It was that simple.

But on these nice school days growing up the day would end as it began with the school bell. We would race out the door much, much faster then we filed into school. By the end of the school day jackets were something you either forgot in school or wrapped it around ones waist. These were the days it took longer to get home as we would stop off at the abandoned park in between our homes and school. There we would climb a tree, run its seemingly endless paths, or just hang out and talk about the school day. Usually it would end with someone saying they were hungry or thirsty and off we would go to our homes......

Quote of the day from Richard Livingstone:

"If the schools send out children with the desire of knowledge and some idea how to acquire and use it, it will have done its job."

Happy Friday, TGIF! a.k.a. Thank Goodness I'm Friendly! No matter the weather you will experience today or the state of mind you will be in....keep a smile on your face and warmth in your heart to your fellow person you encounter today!

Monday April 29, 2013 and its a wet, wet, wet, one more time wet 56 degrees outside staying wet up to 73 degrees. Great duck weather! Here we are at next to the last day of April. Good gracious! This month seems to have gone by faster than this past weekend!

Speaking of this past weekend, I found myself up a tree with a saw! I have been trying to get more daily sunlight into the garden and decided it was time to saw a bit here and a bit there. What did I find one branch lead to another and to another and to another smaller tree and a trim here, a cut there and I had some more sunlight. Of coarse its like washing ones car, it rains right after it. Well Sunday we cloudy and in fact for the next several days it will be cloudy so will be a while before I can see if the strategic cutting I did worked. The cut limbs were a good excuse for a Saturday night bonfire.

Oh yea I had an encounter with a small garden variety snake yesterday. I was putting some wood edging in to block the wood chips from floating away in heavy rains on the side of my home. I got the wood and tools out and the first shovel fool of wood chips and leaves I picked up....well you guessed it I got more than I anticipated. It was only about 14 inches long but he slithered off that shovel and into the leaves and not to be seen again. They are quick then they want to be. The quicker the better is A-Okay with me.

But back to Saturday evening. What a beautiful evening it was. There was virtually no wind. This time of the year has virtually no mosquito's to speak of. So, I loaded up the fire place and as they saw light the match or in my case the lighter. In no time the flames roared high into the evenings air with clouds of blue smoke going straight up into the dusk sky, as if there was an imaginary chimney containing them and drawing them upward. Branch after branch was consume and than log after log till the night sky glowed in the backdrop of the bright yellow flames and red hot embers. Was the perfect time to listen to nature as I sat there. The blue birds singing their songs, the crows calling into the night air. It was also the perfect time to thank the one above for another day filled challenges and accomplishments. Thanking him for all that he has bestowed on each of us. My trusty lab was out on the prowl and actually eating the nuggets off of the large pine trees. But after awhile she came down and laid by the fire as if to end her day as well. What a great evening it was.......

Quote of the day from Harvey Fierstein:

" Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life, but define yourself.”

Happy Monday, Happy rainy day Monday if you are so inclined! Happy to be thankful for all that is within and around me!.....are you?

Tuesday April 30, 2013 and its a misting 60 degrees partly sunning its way up to 75 degrees. Its a keeper!

Speaking of keepers, that is exactly what I did with a nice size small mouth Bass I caught one fall day in a lake in Pa. That was the first and last fish I ever got mounted. Today I am a catch and release fisherman. The thrill and excitement of catching that great fish is best shared with other fellow angers than just me. Not only could no one else feel the pleasure of catching a fish the size that I caught but I did not even get the meat from the fish and that is really sad. Fish were given to us as a food supply not a trophy on a wall. In my younger days I chose the trophy on the wall. Today I say with regret that it was not the right decision. I feel much better today catching a really nice fish and turning it free for the next angler to catch and hopefully release.
Of coarse there is a picture of two as a memento of the catch and release! Got fish?

Quote of the day from William Humphrey:

"The fish and I were both stunned and disbelieving to find ourselves connected by a line."

Thursday May 2, 2013 and its a light drizzle and 56 degrees and will get up to slightly below normal temperature of 70 degree with maybe, possibly, almost-ly a ray of sunshine! Say it is so! We have a colleague in from the UK so we are telling him we ordered the weather just for him to feel like he is at home......he wants the sunshine!

Where is this week going, meeting after meeting, chart after chart, Some people may not believe its butter, but I can't believe its Thursday already! Singing Cicada's say it is not so! So much to do and so much time to do it........wait that was not right. So much time and so little brain cells to do it......Hmmmm....No that's is not right.... One more time: So much to do and so little time to do it! Ah, that's better......huh?

What a great day, busy or not, sleepy or wide awake, happy or sad, it is still a special day. Why? Because today, Thursday May 2 is the only day we get. We don't get to wake up tomorrow and have it be Thursday May 2 ever again in the year 2013 that is! So make the most of it. Do something you thought about doing but have not yet. Friday May 3, 2013 and its 51.1 degrees heading on up to a party sunny 70 degrees! Great start to a Friday. Garden can really use some sun, last few days have been socked in with solid clouds and light rain. But in the words of Buzz Light year...'Not today!'.

Speaking of today, May 2. a day filed with 'rich' historical facts. This day in 1878 the U.S. mint stopped making the 20 cent coin, oh my! This day in 1968, Gold hit a record high of $39.35 per ounce, say it was not so! I wonder if they had all those commercials swaying people to invest in Gold at that record level price....Cha-ching!

Monday May 6, 2013 and its 57.3 and wet to get wetter on its way up to 64 degrees! Another day of clouds and rain on tap today and tomorrow and some of the next day. But today is enough is keep us busy, tomorrow and the day after will take care of it self until we get to them. With the clouds and cooler temperatures I did not accomplish much out doors. Did manage to get some Zucchini plants in. The garden is complete less the growing of it!

But I did catch up on the news which saddened me. I learned that over this past weekend in the forgotten war another 7 in one report or 8 of our future leaders had been killed. I could not help but think of the families left behind to endure the pain and grief. Which made me immediately ask, why? Why is our future Mom's and Dad's, Husbands and wife's, Teachers, Politicians, Doctors, Nurses, Judges, Construction works, Deacons, Pastors, and friends dying?

The War is over we got the identified bad guy(s). There will always be bad guys so will we be there forever? We will continue to let our young ones be sacrificed for people that know not our way of life? Know not what our countries stands for. For the lives of the most recent Americans killed in Afghanistan Mr. President please bring our troops home for their job there has long been done. Its just takes courage and the stroke of the pen. P-L-E-A-S-E.

Tuesday May 7, 2013 and its 54.6 degrees outside raining its way up to 66 degrees. Yesterday afternoon we got some good rains, some real down pours. Today has about the same on tap. Hopefully a bit more sun. Good grass growing and garden growing weather. Last evening thunder was rumbling the skies but no rain over us.

With the sun also comes the time to reflect on our lives. Are we doing all we can to help one another get through another day? The 11th commandment is simple in words but tough to swallow at sometimes. It simply says; 'Love one another as I have loved you'. As our days get busy we forget the loving part. How could one love everyone all the time? Every time we turn the TV on or search the internet news site we see instance after instance of people not loving one another. But if we truly want a world of loving one another without judgement or reservation we have to start with ourselves. It is only a mirror look away. Now that is simply enough but the hard part is looking through the vanity of our own reflections and peering into the soul that drives and guides us. Asking ourselves did I do everything I could today to help the ones I love and the ones I have not yet come to love?

If you can do that each day in front of that morning mirror peek you will have a full day. The only thought I could add is be careful you may not like what you see at first as all things in life it takes work and effort to love all those you encounter in your life's journey......

Quote of the day from Galatians 6:10 NIV.

"So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith."

Happy Tuesday, Happy are the pure of heart, Happy are the ones who see not with worldly eyes but heavenly eyes, happy I bid to you today.

Thursday May 9, 2013 and its a thick foggy 56.9 outside and the sun is to make an appearance today to get us cranking up to 75 or so degrees. The fog was thick this morning.....how thick one may ask...thick enough young fog walker, think enough!

As I drove into the office this morning through this think fog I thought back walking to school in the foggy mornings. Our track to school took us by one edge of the abandoned park and that section was uphill lined with stair cases, maybe 5 or 6 sections with 10 steps or so each. the thick fog made it eerie and scary. Each staircase had a flat landing of about 10 feet and those flat spots is where the paths would be into that old park. So when the fog was thick one could not see into the park, just the tall grass and narrow pathways. There was a many a foggy morning we would book up those steps to get by that park. Those were the days the stories came out by the older kids about kids getting lost in the park or some creature coming out of the fog and grabbing people. Now of that ever happened but to use kids it was likely to happen at any moment. Sometime someone would get pushed into the foggy parks pathways. That was pretty darn scary!

The cool part of the foggy mornings sometimes was when we reached the top of the hill where our school was the fog would be hung thick below the school. So when we got to the summit of the hill the sun would be out and we could over look the low area all around our school and see the thick fog cloud. That was pretty cool! This would not happen often as typically if was foggy to school and all around the school.

Hard to believe its Thursday already. Good gracious time flying whether you are having fun or not, so big hint.......Have fun each and everyday as there are no start overs and no going back!!!

Quote of the day from Nancy Pelosi:

"But we have to pass the bill so we can find out what is in it, away from the fog of controversy."

Happy Thursday and Nancy, Nancy, Nancy, I am as foggy today about the bill as I was when your statement was made. Thank goodness mother nature clears the fog for us to see clearly in a matter of hours and not years or lifetimes.....

Friday May 10, 2013 and its a sunny 63.3 degrees heading on up to 81 degrees with a chance for a thunderstorm or two. It is also the Mother's Day weekend! To all the Mom's out there Happy Mother's Day weekend! Without you none of us would be possible! With you the world is a better place!

Why are mom's special? The simple answer is in the above paragraph. The complex answer is Mom's knew and protected us long before we entered the world. As a gift from God to them personally they accepted, protected us, nourished us, talked to us, and sung to us. They felt our every twinge and flutter as we developed and grew inside of them. They protected us from the outside world as long as they could until the day of our birth. On that day they felt the pain and anguish to bring a new child into this world. They decided on the perfect name for us. They glow with the delight of the life they help create and with all the hopes, dreams, and pride they can exult. Mom's.......in all God's creations they were given the gift of bringing new life into the world! That is an awesome responsibility and privilege. To all the Mom's of the world and mine especially I wish a Happy Blessed Mother's Day complete with the goods of the world but mostly with the gifts from above being Love, Health, and Respect! Thanks Mom!!!!!

Quote of the day from Williams Goldsmith Brown:

"The sweetest sounds to mortals given
Are heard in Mother, Home, and Heaven."

Happy Friday, Happy are the pure of heart, Happy are the Mothers that chose life over the alternatives, Blessed are we to have been given the divine gift of a loving Mother.

Monday May 13, 2013 and its 47.7 degrees with full sun on tap for today and a cool 64 degrees to greet the new week. Great weekend and hope all the Mom's had a special day yesterday!!!

Talked to my Mom yesterday to wish here a happy Mother's Day. This past year was a tough one for Mom. She had to finally give up the homestead and move into a apartment for seniors. She suffered a mini-stroke which through the grace of God did not slow her down. She keeps busy with activities in the apartment complex. She is also looking forward to coming down and spending some time with us this summer.

Speaking of summer, oh man it will be here before we know it. These spring days have been beautiful. Friday night was spectacular sitting beside the bonfire and watch the smoke rise into the night sky between the tree branches. Tossing on a log or two at the right time to keep the flames a burning. The conversation flowed like water over a waterfall, constant and with purpose. Subjects are deep as the vastness of space and as pointed as what project around the house will be tackle next. My trusty lab on guard duty and up on every noise in the woods lying between the fire and us. She finally settles down and enjoys the warmth of the fire and the crackling of the burning wood. Makes for a great time to exhale the challenges of the day and week and just inhale the peace and tranquility of the outdoors. Truly a special time. Oh yea, it also is the perfect time to give thanks for the one above that makes it all possible. Without him there is no us and with him there is hope, love, and charity..........

Quote of the day from Mother Teresa:

" To fear is to expect punishment. To love is to know we are immersed, not in darkness, but in light."

Happy Monday and may your day be filled with the breath of happiness, hope, and peace.

Tuesday May 14, 2013 and its 42.2 clear sky degrees outside heading on up to a full sunny 68 degrees. Sweet! What a beautiful clear sky this morning driving in. In factr yesterday evening went for a nice long one on one of the many walking green-ways in the area. Got to walk and walk and watch the sun almost set over the horizon. The paths were filled with walkers, runners, skateboarders. Some walking alone, some with family members and others with friends while others were walking with their best friends.

Some of the paths were lined with some very big trees, I don't know their names but can see they were very old. Easily over 100 years old. They were large majestic trees that one could look at and imagine all the changes they have witnessed in the past 100 plus years. There they stand as testaments to the past and being in the right place at the right time as they were now commissioned to a park to grow in the safety of the park! No builders saws will be sawing them up and that is good to know!

So, if you get a chance today, tomorrow, or next week even get out, walk, run, or just stroll in a park near you and take in the beauty of nature with a friend, family member, or just the peaceful tranquility of your inner-self. Rest assured, your truly will be heading back for another stroll! One last thought on walking....its a great time to have that conversation with the one above!!!!

Quote of the day from Erich Fromm:

"Who will tell whether one happy moment of love or the joy of breathing or walking on a bright morning and smelling the fresh air, is not worth all the suffering and effort which life implies."

Happy walking Tuesday! Its that simple folks.....get up and get out walking, running, biking, jogging, or whatever you do to get moving!

Wednesday May 15, 2013 and its a sun rise 55.5 degrees outside heading on up to 86 sun filled degrees today! Sweet! Middle of May no less. Was it not just May 1st? Jumping Jupiter time sure if a flying. No stars intended, either.....

How come when you hit 21 the speed of time seems to warp on by. When you hit 40 time seems to hit the speed of light and at 50 time seems to defy all rule of physics... Goodness gracious! That is exactly why one has to as they say stop and smell the burnt rubber from the tires of life spinning to the future. If one just goes for the ride what have they accomplished? What have the passed on other than the rest of our brothers and sisters riding on the cars all around us! Common man throw on the emergency brake of life and get out and walk awhile. Smell the roses, skip some rocks upon the pond, take a long stroll with your best friend and loved ones, smile at a stranger and say 'Hello'. Randomly type a number on your phone and text that number a 'Hello, and have a great day'. Hope on your bike or your kids bike and take a ride! Get some chalk and write on your driveway anything that pops in your mind. Ask your teen how life is going? Tell them how your teen life was....I bet more similar to theirs than different. See someone struggling in life, help them! You see garbage lying around pick it up! You have a chance to do good...take it! You have a chance to correct someone from doing bad, take it!

Life is an amazing journey if we just live it and not ride it till the end! Yea you know what I mean....leave the car in park today and hit the road of life with the two feet the one above gave you.....it maybe a whole new world for you...

Quote of the day from 'Unknown' and that is sad as the quote is outstanding:

Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, ends with
a tear. When you were born, you were crying and everyone
around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die,
you're the one smiling and everyone around you is crying.

Happy Wednesday, happy hump day, happy middle of the week day, happy middle of your life day....? Yes, now let's go out and make the second half meaningful, complete, and as the quote above states <SMILING> .

Thursday May 16, 2013 and its 63.2 degrees outside with sun and that sun will carry us up to a hot 91 degrees. Chance of storms overnight and tomorrow but for today sun man just sun! The dawn sky has been spectacular this past few days driving in. The sun is making its early approaches to these pre summer days! Just outstanding! Traffic flowed nicely even with the speed limit being raised to 70 MPH. I have not seen any difference. Even when it was 65 people generally went 70 to 80MPH with the occasional speed burner flying by.

Speaking of flying by....this is exactly what happened to me in a small town in France just over the German boarder. Years ago when I lived in Germany for a work assignment we would travel around to different areas as time permitted. On this one day we traveled to a small pottery town in eastern France. It had endless shops of pottery, if one is into those sorts of things. Let's put it this way....I don't get all creaked about about them.

Anyway, the town had farm land all around it so the town survived on pottery and farming and unknown to us a Air Force base for France and Canada. We could see in the distance some planes flying around and occasionally heard the roar of the jets afterburners. So after going from home to home which were the pottery shops we have one that set back in a farmers field. Had a nice sign out by the road welcoming in both English and French visitors. Across the back the property was a long tree line that separated the farm field from the property around this house. So we headed back to that home / pottery store, the walkway was about 200 yards from the main road. Now here is where the fun began or at least the racing heart started.........

Unknown to us there was a jet off to the distance and the pilot must of spotted us heading that that shop. He cruised very low in fact below the tree line and just as we got to that shop back by the tree line he hit the afterburners and pulled straight up on the other side of the tree line. This scared the pottery right out of our bags sort of speak! Dang, the afterburner shock the ground under out feet and up, up, and away the jet went. After we got our senses back we all had a good laugh just thinking how much that pilot must of been laughing in that jet.......he got us! He surely got us! The rest of that day we were always on guard awaiting the next jet to pop up out of no where and scare us.

    As they say in France.....Owww-lalal!

Quote of the day Tamora Pierce:

“Scary with you is better than scary without you”

Happy Thursday and enjoy your day and may not a jet fly out of the tree line in your days journey. If it does it will take your breath away.......Have a great day and a even better evening!

Friday May 17, 2013 and its 64.7 degrees outside heading on up to 86 degrees. Outstanding! T.G.I.F. and that is Thank Goodness Its Friday!

Got a used power washer to try out this weekend! Its older but high powered, at least that is the hope! We will see when I get it cranked up and working. Good excuse to do the outside of the house, decks, and driveways. I think I am going to pressure wash the garage floor as well. Other than that nothing else on the agenda this weekend. I may build a couple of bird houses as some friends wanted some. About half of the bird houses on my property are vacant this year. Actually three have been modified over the winter by the squirrels. They crew the openings out so they can fit in. So maybe I will fix those so the birds can use them again. The new ones I make have a piece of metal over the openings so the squirrels can't chew their way in. Sorry squirrels.....

Oh yea, the downside of the pressure washer.....I will have to paint the deck after it is cleaned up. But rain on the horizon this weekend so the painting will have to wait.

Quote of the day from Ephesians 4:32 NIV:

"And be kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another."

Happy Friday and may your day be filled with kindness and understanding, and joy! If not get the pressure washer out and wash away the stress, foul words, and lack of patience to our fellow people we share our life with.....please!
