I figured that since we have a thread questioning Obama's eligibility to be president, I thought it only fair is we have a competing thread only, in this case, the determination has been done by a legal professor not some RW site.

The analysis by Prof. Gabriel J. Chin, focuses on a 1937 law (McCain was born in 1936) that has been largely overlooked in the debate over McCain’s eligibility to be president. The law conferred citizenship on children of American parents born in the Canal Zone after 1904, and it made John McCain a citizen just before his 1st birthday.

What all this means is since McCain was born in 1936 and the law did not go into effect until 1937, McCain is not a natural born citizen and therefore not eligible to be president.

That didn't go into effect until 1937, McCain was born in 1936. Meaning when McCain was born he wasn't a citizen so not only isn't he natural born but he acquired his citizenship by statute.
