My posts have been averaging about 8,000 views per day for weeks now. I checked my stats today and all of a sudden the views of my posts jumped from 8,000 to 16,000 betweem Jan 7th and 8th and I haven't been posting much as of late. Is city data advertising somewhere new lately that has increased it's exposure that might explain such an increase? Just curious. That was quite a dramatic jump in views!

NRG,
Congratulations on the dramatic overnight improvement in the quality of your participation!

Oh joee, don't take it personally. I always read your posts! I just think it has a lot more to do with where you post than what you post.

The "spike" showed up in my chart today, as follows:

- I get a consistent hit rate of about 8000 views a day.
- Views spiked to 14,000 on 09 Jan, then returned to normal.
- Nothing I posted on 08 or 09 Jan caused that spike, as I checked how many hits were counted for threads where I posted.
- I assume that if non-members view a post/thread that the counter will tally that hit and show it in the view count.

Never seen such a spike before. Maybe the Admin has some advice on this.

I got that 8,000 extra "hit" today too.
I'll bet it's tiny little nearsighted, manic drones opening and scrolling threads at breakneck speed. They're in a race to see which one can open and scroll the most threads. Winner gets a pair of flowered flip-flops. Yeah, that's the ticket!!

I may be wrong, but I think it is the thread that you post on, not your indidvidual posts, that are counted.
Hopefully a mod will correct me if I am wrong.

It has to be the page that your post is on in the thread, since there's no way to know if someone read your particular post. Yet!
