Valentine is a reasonably good neighborhood. It's close to shopping both on W. Tusc and up Whipple to Belden Village. It's also right by the expressway. Downside is it is located in Canton City Schools which generally blow. It's also cool that it is near Meyers Lake which is generally still patronized by normal people doing normal recreational activities.

Ranowsky I had to Google and it appears to be in East Canton. You're going on the other end of the spectrum - even though it is close to the city I would consider it to be semi-rural (on that side of town you can literally be in the city and then it just stops and you're in a cornfield). The school district out there is tiny (I think the HS has like 300 people enrolled). Size wise I would definitely call it a village - its under 2000 people. Downside to it is it is to the east of Canton which was the most industrialized end and now is not as developed as other areas (i.e. to the North and West). So while proximity to population is good you are actually farther from most of the best shopping, etc. I also believe there is no longer a local grocery store so you would actually have to drive a bit to do your shopping. If you're used to being in a (very) small town you may be ok it but if you're looking for what people consider to be "Canton"/suburbs that's really not it.
