Hi all,
I am from Alabama and am coming up to visit a good friend close to Palmer next week. I know you are probably tired of people wanting to move to your beautiful state. I really would love to move there and feel it would be home for me and my two teens. My children are respectful, I love to fish, hunt (follow the rules too and only to eat), love to cook southern food, like to garden, canning, and am a nurse and a navy veteran too so I could give back to the community too. I am doing my homework as much as possible learning about life there. Hoping to look at some cabins / maybe some places that need some TLC and will be less expensive to live in. Just wanted to thank you for this forum and all you time /effort helping us here. I CANT Wait to get there!
So glad you have great coffee up there too, Yummo! My question is do you think you have room for 3 more people?

You sound like a person who would like living in Alaska. Check things out when you're up here and you'll get a better idea, but it sort of sounds like you've made up your mind and are ready to live here. Welcome!

Coming up and checking it out first is a very smart and wise decision. Good luck.

Good luck Wynter! You're going to Barrow, right? Keep an open mind........and remember they've seen many of "you" come and go. Even in Anchorage, it took a few months for my co-workers to realize I was still here, and then be interested in getting to know me better. But now I can say these are some of the best folks I've ever worked with!

Welcome to a new life, I think you sound like you have a pretty good mindset before you move here. As a Nurse, you will be courted by all the hospitals in Alaska for getting you to work for them.

If you are in Wasilla or Palmer area, there is lots of things to do and places to go in the outdoors.

Have a good trip and you will be here for the start of the State Fair in Palmer and Fairbanks depending on how much free time you have for traveling.

The State Fair title goes back and forth every other year between the two places, but you would never know it unless you really are in the know and they are both a great way to get a shot of Alaska since many of the booths are by people that come from remote places to sell their crafts.

Good Luck
