I don't know which city would make me the happiest though. I also know that it is culturally different compared to NY, and the people are. I can make due with that because I just don't like the people on the East-Coast. I like a more laid-back style of living, but not too laid back like California. Also when I'm older most likely I would first live in Anchorage for a couple of years and who knows, I may stay in that city or go to Wasilla, Fairbanks or Juneau. Only time will tell.
Alaska is a very large State, and cannot be adequately served by having government offices in just one location, despite Juneau's views to the contrary. The State of Alaska Department of Fish & Game has offices in the following locations:

I know next to nothing about Alaska, but I am a Jewish demographics junkie, so I thought I'd forward you the results from the most recent annual American Jewish population study, according to which an estimated 6,175 Jews live in Alaska (0.84% of 713,449), distrubuted as follows:

Anchorage Borough
5,000/298,610 (1.67%)

Fairbanks North Star Borough
600/99,192 (0.60%)

Juneau Borough
300/32,164 (0.93%)

Kenai Peninsula Borough
200/55,400 (0.36%)

There are also another 175 people in "other places" (with 23 in Bethel, and another 20 in both Nome and Valdez).

Hope this helps!

Gee, thanks!! I could consider myself a Jewish demographic junkie too. A few years ago when I was younger and searched up the Jewish populations of each Alaskan city, it said Anchorage had close to 10,000, which I knew wasn't accurate.

For a visit, you should consider a seasonal job here. As mentioned in other threads, check out coolworks.com for seasonal opportunities. I'm assuming you're too young now to apply (under 18), but if you start researching now, you'll have an idea on what is available and have a better idea where you might want to work.
