I honestly am not sure how to advise you on this. Is there any work at all where you are at to get you by until you somehow have more money saved up. What do the rest of you think?? Where are you staying now in SD (shelter?), and obviously you were able to earn some money if you have $600 ? I take it you are using a computer at a library or internet cafe?
Never been to canada so i am not entirely sure i can hitch thru there i will have to look into that if i am not mistaken it is illegal but again id have to look into it.

on a side note what kinda culture change am i gonna be looking at if i move to anch or fairbanks? i also hear there are more women then there are men!!!!! dammit there i go getting sidetracked again lol.

You are probably right about it being illegal to hitch-hike in Canada. The ratio of women to men is not that great and I couldn't tell you since I am female and females don't interest me other then as friends. I'm sure some of the single guys on here will look it up for you. However, I agree with Met, in your situation you need to focus more on work and living somewhere; then you can worry about women.

Must be the same person told you about getting rich on fishing boats, told you there were more women than men here.

They lied.

You may not be allowed into canada without more money than that in your pocket either. Seriously.

Is a birth certificate and valid license enough to get you into Canada and then back into the US?

Ok, I did find this: http://cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/security-secu...ss-eng.html#s1

I'll send you that linky in a few....and do check out the ones that stiffnecked posted also. Working in seafood processing isn't a bad way to get on a boat if you do good work and get to know some of the local fishermen. The best way to get up here might be the ferry--Alaska Marine Highway--just get a walk on ticket and sleep in the solarium or the lounge; lots of people do. Oh, and my son's a lot younger than you; I read it wrong when I was here before.
