Pay attention when you drive through Calgary, this is a very busy place and many cars. It doesn't seem that there is enough room between the car in front of you, people there pretty much make room and pull right in front of you to get where they're going. On top of that, everyone is going at a good pace, around 70mph or so.

What is the best time to go through the border with a big moving truck?
DO I need to have a itemized list of everything?
Any border expediting suggestions?
What are the best places to eat and stop and those to avoid?

As far as the border crossing in a U-Hual... I was asked what was in the truck and told him furniture and that was fine. He was mainly concerned about weapons which i didnt have any guns at all but he did try to trip me up with a question about shipping guns to make sure i wasnt lying. I wasnt so life was good. They didnt ask about my 15 year old DWI but they did bring my brother following in my truck in for closer questioning about a 7 year old vandalism charge. Let him through anyways. BTW no interest at all in the pet certificates for my wifes cats but that could be because i had told him already she had them.

As far as where to stop.. one warning i will give you. A very "nice" lady running a gas station in fort nelson strongly recommended we stop at a gas station in Coal River as they had gas way cheaper then others before or after. We did and it was over $6/gal. The next gas station up the way another 10 miles or so had it for 40 cents a liter less. Funny the woman running the Coal river place looked a lot like the Fort Nelson lady. Yes gas is expensive up in the Mountains but that was silly!

I did the drive from Watson Lake to Whitehorse after sundown but got behind an 18 wheeler going at a good pace and stayed right on him as a moose plow so to speak. Wouldnt recommend it if you dont have to hurry.

Just arrived in Tok this afternoon. Rough day of driving over the cracks and frost heaves. Glad to finally make it to Alaska!
