Hey everyone I live in Colorado I grew up in Durango in the mountains my wife and I would love to move up there to Anchorage I need a job I have done mainly construction but I can learn other trades also I was born in Louisiana So I have been comercial fishing a time or two So can anyone help I would love to here from you my email is richard.morris20@yahoo.com

Your best bet is to move up & look for a job. I plan on doing something similar a little later this year.

Just be sure you have enough money to live off of if you come without having a job. You'd need at least a good 8 months reserve for rent, food, gas, etc. maybe even more months depending on how the economy goes. Good luck.

Thankyou so much I just found out my wife has family in anchorage so here we go Colorado is very pretty just to many people not enough space we are expecting a little boy and I want only the best for him we have five more weeks. We wont be there untill next spring. so thankyou again.

From what I have read about AK, it sounds like a beautiful place with friendly people.
I guess I could get use to the climate. 6 months of darkness? yikes.

No sunlight at all. You have to drive with your lights on 24/7.
Polar bears roaming all over the place, too.
It sucks.

Anchorage is a nice place to live i moved there in 1999 and been back in ohio 3 years , it easy getting a job there when your from another state says alot about the residence.lol just dont feed the moose or play with there offspring they will attack and dont be surprised if you can't park in your drive way because there blocking it.
