Maybe? Anyone familiar with the HUB resort, or Scooters restaurant?

It sure looks like it. I read the official statement from Heritage USA. They said Phase 1 will be complete in 2020. It's going to be a big project for sure.

Oh wow, I sure hope so...that's a beautiful piece of land, and history, down in that "holler". I hate to see it go to waste.

Just saw confirmation that the HUB and Scooters restaurant are closed, permanently. So something is going on there.

Dogpatch's biggest problem has always been that the larger similarly themed Silver Dollar City isn't that far away so tourists rather go there. If they can market this as a unique Ozark experience, it could be a success again.

My personal preference is for hiking and just being in the woods in general, so I've never gone anywhere near Branson.

But if I were in Newton County for a spell, I might take a day off from hiking (to let my muscles rest!) to run up to Dogpatch and see the sights, especially if I had young kids with me.

Living in Newton County, I pass the old Dogpatch often. I've always said that if I had the money, I'd make it into a campground with RV slots, tent areas, a few cabins, a general store, and a cafe. We don't have many campgrounds around the area so it was sort of the idea of "if you build it, they will come". The area just seems perfect for that. However, I haven't yet come up with the millions it would take so I'll keep dreaming.

Sounds like pretty much what Heritage USA is planning on doing.

I hope they pull it off. But there have been several others with big ideas about Dogpatch, they all failed.
