I woder why the US military forces allow the servicemen to be involved with local Japanese women.
In China, soldiers are not allowed to have any romantic relationship with local women. And that's in their own country.
I don't see why it's a big deal, really. If an American who happens to be stationed in the military in Japan meets a woman who's Japanese and the two hit it off and fall in love, then why shouldn't they get married? I don't view it as much different from how I met my wife while living and working in China.
And besides, it's produced some damn good looking kids
And the pure-as-snow Chinese men never visit them.

All I said is China does not allow soldiers to date local women, and prostitution is illegal in China.
If a serviceman is with a prostitute and gets caught, he is guaranteed to be expelled and punished by law.

Before the 2000s, college students were not allowed to get married either, and people in China generally supported it.

My point is that Chinese men are notorious for sleeping with prostitutes and having mistresses, yet, you feel it somehow necessary to chastise American soldiers for dating local women in the places that American soldiers are stationed.

definitely a cultural difference, that doesn't make any sense or seem virtuous to me at all, and that's also probably why the government changed their policies.

Maybe because they fear they would have to bring a different Army unit in to run over their own people with their tanks.....again... if the soldiers in the local units formed attachments to the local communities
My sons are half Filipino. Myself I'm very mixed. My first son has whiter skin and was always called gwapo, etc. My second son came out with darker skin and people don't call him cute as much. He was even teased sometimes called "negro" among family members. But I agree Filipino's are much more accepting compared to other peoples.
