We just noticed a new Flip location at Roswell & Piedmont the other day.

Interesting that this 5 Napkin Burger joint is locating their first venue outside of NYC here.

Yeah, I really feel like the burger business has to hit a saturation point in ATL very soon. Places like Flip and Yeah I sort of get because they represent slightly different niches of burger (upscale, environmental, relatively affordable, etc.) But how many more burger places can this city realistically support?

Yogurt is starting to hit a saturation point too, though strangely there's still a lack of yogurt places in Midtown. (If Yoforia on the Westside would just open the heck up, that would be nice!)

Have any of you even looked through the menu? 5 Napkin Burger has more than just burgers and they have sushi. I think it looks good and it fits within the neighborhood. Better than that space sitting empty for awhile.

I honestly hope that City of Atlanta has more independent restaurant opening in the future than more franchises.

That's why I left the city. It really doesn't matter where you go, you could be 30 miles away from Atlanta and you'll see the same ****ty franchise restaurants and cafe's and they serve the same ole ****. Sure they're good food, but honestly, I would rather order a crappy tasting hot dog that has a funny name from a cart off of a street than something from a franchise that they're selling on national TV.

I mean, it's already bad that TGIF, Chillies and Apple Bees that's smothering your neighborhood is within walking distance of each other on your favorite local shopping mall, not to mention that they serve practically the same thing at the same price range, but it's the worst feeling to see that you drive 10 miles away from it and all you see is the same cluster **** of the same franchised restaurants.

You close down all of the dive bars that's unique, like American Pie, and basically everything on Buckhead, and now everything is franchised. I swear, if I didn't know better, the city is sponsored by these franchises.

come on people, make it more independent and I promise you the city will grow more in popularity.

I'll miss Vickery's. It was a regular stop for Midtown office workers back in the 80s.
