Advertisements

I'm starting my own business, and would like to know what newspapers cater to areas of wealth so that I can advertise in them. I have already contacted the Dunwoody Crier, are there any others that are community specific that I should look into?

I would look here...

Homepage - Neighbor Newspapers

Ones that come to mind are Buckhead Neighbor, Sand Springs Neighbor...and there are probably others.

Also if you're doing magazines, perhaps Atlanta Magazine, Jazebel Magazine, and a few others in the Atlanta section here: Modern Luxury

If you're interested in advertising in magazines, what about Points North? It serves areas like Alpharetta, John's Creek, and Roswell.

The Neighbor papers are basically weekly small "flier" papers that are thrown out onto your driveway every week. They're owned by the same company that owns the Marietta Daily Journal and Cherokee Tribune, I believe. It's not a daily paper.

I don't think that there are any specific papers that cater to a specific class of people, but the only real papers in these areas are those of specific cities nearby, such as the Marietta Daily Journal, the Cherokee Tribune, etc.

It depends on the business?

I would checkout Patch.com. They have around 40 sites in the metro and they have most areas covered. For example, they have:

buckhead.patch.com
johnscreek.patch.com
sandysprings.patch.com
alpharetta.patch.com
eastcobb.patch.com

etc...

They seem to have local advertising, although some sites have more than others. I read the Smyrna Patch and they occasionally write articles about new businesses too.

Does anyone 'read' a paper (physical) newspaper anymore? I would go with Some of the high end Mags, that are available, or some cable ads in your target areas, Does Comcast/ATT U do zones? or is the whole atlatna area?

Why mess with newspapers? Talk-Radio is where the big money is. AM 750 in particular.
