Very nice but mistitled. It advertised a look at subdivision(s). It only featured one-Williams Point...

Looks like Spalding woods could be getting another 100 townhomes.

Quote:
Clif Poston nods his head as he listens to residents’ concerns about a plan for developing more than 100 townhomes on Spalding Drive.

The executive vice president of Traton Homes addressed community members for the first time April 28. The public meeting provided a chance for Poston on behalf of Traton Homes to answer questions people might have about the 11 acres of property the Spalding Woods Club board members agreed to sell.

Default Central Perimeter's Attracting Millennials. Here's How.

Sounds like Perimeter is reeling in the Millennials.

Quote:
CP is still the demographic center of Metro Atlanta, says Cushman & Wakefield's Andy Sumlin, also a panelist. For some companies, the need to be in Midtown—especially if there's a critical need to feed off of Georgia Tech—is very real. But for most companies, it's more than just Millennials who make up the workforce. Plus, Millennial's infatuation with urban living may not be a permanent trend. Once they have families, the need for a suburban lifestyle may be more a necessity. “There are intown options, but it's not for everybody. And not for every pocketbook, too. That furthers the argument that Central Perimeter is not going to fade away,” he says.

Perimeter Center is not going anywhere, but the congestion will start to take it's toll unless something is done. Building more multifamily housing can help, but as stated in the article, what happens once those singles or newly married have kids and move to a SFH? They will have to commute and unless more transit options are provided, they will have to drive.

Looks like Avalon is getting a Lotta Frutta.

Quote:
LottaFrutta Gourmet Fruit House and Market will open at Avalon in Alpharetta at the end of the month. The order-at-the-counter restaurant will be identical to the original Auburn Avenue location in terms of menu—at least at first.

Looks like the folks over in Europe are looking for some elbow room, so why get down on the ATL?

Quote:
These European cities are becoming more American

According to the researchers, many of Europe's largest city centers have seen their populations dwindle between 2001 and 2011 as more people moved away and birthrates went up in metropolitan areas and suburbs where housing is more affordable.

The eastern European cities were held back by the soviets.

Sorry, but same phenomena there as it is here, high costs and lack of affordable housing in the urban core. Sorry, but Europeans are not moving to the suburbs there for something stupid like "elbow room". Europeans actual enjoy the close quarters of one another, but if housing is unaffordable then of course they will move.
