Visited Charlotte and liked it very nice but to spread out, seems small. The cost of living in Charlotte seems better then Atlanta. My husband & I have no kids & are 40yrs old and looking for a bit more then Charlotte were thinking. Would you say there is a big difference between Charlotte and Atlanta? Please all info or opinions on the two places would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Not really. Because Charlotte is smaller, it does better in certain categories like traffic; probably does better in terms of crime rate too. In terms of amenities, Atlanta will win out because it's a good bit larger. But that's to be expected.

Ditto LovinDecatur. It's been done to death.

One nice thing about CLT is easy access to mountains and beaches (easier than atlanta, at least)

Charlotte North Cackalacky???!!!

The place with higher income taxes, higher property taxes, higher grocery, higher insurance, higher utility, highest gasoline tax in the country, taxes and inspections out the yin yang on your car???
Maybe if you live on the South Cackalacky side.

I'm not saying it aint worth it or that it's bettter but I definitely don't think it's cheaper.

They do have this year's number 1 best airport according to IATA.
That's gotta be worth something.

Charlotte is a couple of degrees hotter and a couple inches snowier.

I have to agree. "Atlanta vs. Charlotte" has been discussed in here multiple times (some of which causing threads to be closed), and in other rooms as well.

To the OP: Since we have "been there, done it" several times, I'm closing this but please see the links below for open threads on the topic - using the site's search feature in the upper corner will yield more results if you look around as well. Feel free to add any questions you have that haven't already been answered, within these threads.
