I know the construction for the Downtown Loop of the Atlanta Streetcar broke ground last year since it got funded by a federal grant for the TIGER project. Does anybody have an update of the current progress of the construction? Originally it was supposed to start service next year.

I don't know, but thet've been going hard and heavy with construction on Auburn and Edgewood Avenues in recent weeks.

Streetcar Tour
They are working on moving utilities right now. Streetcar will be up and running a year from now. Take the next tour on Saturday, August 25, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Meet at SE Entrance to Peachtree Center MARTA station at Peachtree & Ellis St. They will update you on the progress.
