And who would that be? Most of them are likely in single parent homes with mothers struggling financially with little education themselves. And to be honest, in most of these areas the teachers aren't doing as much as they can to push these kids to do more...half of them don't even care. I've seen firsthand at a few of the inner city high schools where kids that actually plan to attend college do most of the research on their own without the help of guidance counselors.

I'm going to assume that most don't know about the student loan debt forgiveness programs here where teachers go into the inner city schools for a certain amount of time and teach to get their loans taken off the table. How much do you think those teachers actually want to be there as opposed to just doing enough to get that debt taken care of and getting another position? A lot of the inner city kids use the marching band to be able to get into college...one of the main reasons that it's such a popular thing in Dekalb County schools.

Every penny the taxpayer spends is to be managed with full and transparent accountability. Let the free market decide who graduates! What makes America great is a full head-on obliteration of a complete class of people.

The founders knew all of this, that's why they started Universities.

The 52% of students who choose to quit coming to school are making their decisions about who graduates.

Well, you would think that just about anybody who goes to school has to figure that somebody is paying for the building, the teachers, buses and the rest of it. Or do you think they are assuming that such things simply materialize?

As to college loan forgiveness programs, that seems a little further down the road for folks who simply quit showing up before they even get out of high school.

I think many people DO think such things just materialize. OR that it's "from the government" without any further thought about where the government gets their money.

Right-O... Those kids in Milton don't make that same decision. As Americans we all have identical experiences and backgrounds.

The founders knew this. That's why "All men created equal..."

I don't understand your point in being ridiculous about it. That simply forecloses meaningful discussion.

Of course kids drop out in Milton, and I would say exactly the same thing to them as kids who fail to finish high school elsewhere. Namely:

-- Where is your brain?
-- How do you expect to survive without even a high school education?
-- Why do you reject the enormous gift of education that is laid at your feet? Young people in other parts of the world would be ecstatic to have the opportunities you so casually reject.
-- Where is your respect for your fellow citizens and all those who have worked and sacrificed to make this available to you?
-- What makes you so special that you don't have to work like the rest of us?

I have noticed that with each new generation of kids there comes a stronger sense of entitlement.

You get the impression that's what people want.
