If schools would be more concerned about actually educating and uplifting, then SATs would not matter.
Unfortunately, USG schools waste a lot of money on unnecessary academic support positions. They have way more staff than they really need. They'll probably go after the part-time faculty instead.

If schools would be more concerned about actually educating and uplifting, then SATs would not matter. At the end of the day if your goal is just to make a lot of money instead of improving your whole being to be the best you can be , and improving the community by adding value to it,then who are you to talk about those who do?.Everything is not for everybody.I dont have to question other peoples decisions about what they choose to do.I believe that most of us have enough sense to do what we need to do to have a fulfilling life.

You however seem to do this all the time.Judging, criticizing and complaining. You did the same in the other thread about people choosing to live in an area that is less than ideal. As if your approach to life and whats important is the standard then you are just the type of person that needs to be at Morehouse.

You really need to stop it with the exaggerations.
Exactly. That dudes motives are so obvious that it's pathetic. Like I said, before I even clicked the thread I already knew he would be in here. Nearly everyone around here has down attendance but he couldn't resist the opportunity to kick the AUC. Obvious troll is obvious.

This. Willing to pay $35,000 a year, then they got a place for you. Being qualified and having the qualities touted on their website are secondary.

It is what it is.

Nope, but I didn't pay $35,000 a year for school.

I wouldn't pay $35,000 a year to go study with some average to below average students in crumbling facilities at a school with well publicized financial woes.

I do, however, welcome any and all knowledgeable opinions from those who have actually attended and even GRADUATED from this respectable and high quality institution.

and for what it's worth: I am a graduate of Morehouse College as well as an attorney. I can't begin to list the number of fellow lawyers, judges, and even politicians who have come from that school and still would recommend any young black male to attend (myself included).
Look, I'm all for culture. However, the fact of the matter is college degrees are a dime a dozen these days. I STRONGLY believe that it's important to due cost/value evaluations down to the degree and major for any student. It's also important to pay a bit of attention to ALL rankings (QS, THE, washington monthly, US News, etc.)

If I was black and able. I'd send my kid to Emory for any pre-law track. This is coming from a soon to be UGA alumnus btw.

Your values are a little off...source?

UGA fall semester enrollment stands at 34,519 | UGA Today

UGA's fall enrollment is 34,519 which is a .9% decrease. Partially due to the increasing selectivity and partily due to budget cuts. Also, partially due to the fact that many students simply cannot afford school anymore. Tuition is nuts.

Georgia high school graduation rates have also fallen to 67%. Sad.

Well most kids dont go to schools like Emory. And not all HBCU are "lackluster".Ill say it over and over:A schools merit is based on its alumni. So whatever the numbers say the out come is Morehouse has had 3
Rhodes Scholars.

The List should end the argument:

3 Rhodes Scholars is swell, but I'd rather have a large alumni base of people who are consistently winning in the job market and in life. Also, not a lot of recent names on that list. As I've said before, Morehouse is living of the legend of those who WERE great Morehouse Men. That mystique no longer exists.

MSM has NEVER lost its accreditation. It is also independent of Morehouse College.
