"The $32 million new pedestrian bridge at MARTA’s Buckhead station will open June 24, Buckhead Community Improvement District Executive Director Jim Durrett announced Tuesday at the board’s monthly meeting at Tower Place.

The bridge spans Ga. 400 and will connect pedestrians from Tower Place and Stratford Road to the station. It is expected to bring a few thousand additional riders to the station each day.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 11 a.m., he said, and the bridge and new entrance to the station will open to the public immediately after.

Among other district projects discussed Tuesday, Livable Buckhead Executive Director Denise Starling gave the board an update on the PATH400 Greenway Trail project, a partnership amongst the district, Livable Buckhead and the PATH Foundation with Livable Buckhead being the lead organization for the project.

The paved multi-use trail will be about 5 miles long and will be about 10 to 14 feet wide, connecting neighborhoods to Buckhead’s urban core and ultimately to the Atlanta BeltLine..."

I'm really impress at the direction Keith Parker is taking Marta. He really knows how to run a transit system.
