Glad to see this. It really does reflect the academic progress UGA has been making in the past 10 years. Definitely a plus for the students. Athens can be a fun town without the negative publicity. Party ranking is probably the only ranking I've seen UGA go down in recently.

They are now 11th. When you have over 100 bars in a three block radius on campus, you're never going to fall too far down the list. Cracking down on fraternities the last couple of years probably lost them the #1 spot from 2010.

Quality of students too. UGA has gotten to selective. Most of the really crazy stories you hear are kids from other schools that just party in Athens.

LSU was #1 a few years ago & we did everything we could to get off that list. While it may seem cool, it's not a list you really want to be on. Now LSU isn't even on the list and no less a party school than it used to be.

What is wrong with being on the party school list? Sounds like a good way to draw potential students.

Almost too old to care about college parties. Not sure why that is relevant to my question though.

Because no right-thinking adult would suggest such a thing. I believe you answered my question.

Ah, but adults aren't the ones making school selection decisions!

I think many things factor into deciding which school to attend. I went to University of Florida and lived in the honors dorms. You might think the honors dorms is a bunch of nerds and geeks....and it kind of is, but I promise you that nobody partied more than those guys.

Being a party school doesn't have to equate with lacking quality.
