It would be a good point if that wasn't how pretty much all of corporate America works. You don't have to like it, I don't like it, but that is what American business is all about.

The fact of the matter is, it's business, and you need to establish yourself as a leader in the industry with the facilities, etc. to ever consider cutting the tax credit. Now we are seeing the industry actually move in with more force with production studios, etc. popping up across the metro. They won't cut credits until they establish themselves as a dominant player to NY/LA. Will that ever happen? It's hard to say, but the direction is still up.

Is it perfect, no, but that's business.

It's Georgia's time to shine & make hay given that the film industry policy debacle unfolding in Louisiana at this time is indicative of how that state is utterly failing & flailing in so many different ways these days. It's appalling as to how the poor leadership at the helm of Louisiana state government has led them down the path of cuts that are affecting jobs as well as the basic quality of life in that state, as if it wasn't poor enough to begin with.
Governor Jindal is basically at war with his own party as to how to handle their huge budget holes that his policies have created.
I can't tell you how many times here in midtown in the last year I have seen trucks servicing the film industry with Louisiana license plates parked at active filming locations.

And Jindal has the nerve to run for president. What's he trying to do, turn the U.S. into one big version of Louisiana?

^^^Wouldn't it be appalling for his vision of Americia to come to fruition? And Jindal being a Rhodes scholar, no less! What's happened for him to have sold out every bit of reason & scientific knowledge he once had?
Seriously though, I have a friend from here in Atlanta who used to regularly go to Louisiana for film work. That has completely ceased to be the case.
