When has Chicago ever been a film giant lol? Atlanta and Goergia absolutely crushes Chicago and Illinois in film production....those areas are not even in the discussion.

You're reading wrong, films is one thing, media, etc. is completely different. Chicago in full media far exceeds, i.e. commercial dollars, live TV, and the like. If Atlanta is going become more than a one-trick pony, they need to overtake other parts of media and not just be a movie place, cause movies though strong, won't completely carry them.

What we are seeing more recently is a move into other parts of media, TV, scripted and the like. But there is far more to the entertainment industry than movies and that's where Chicago continues to be a major player. Movies yes, Atlanta is third, but movies is one piece of breaking into the rest.

Why does everyone want the film industry? Atlanta (and most of the South) are just not positioned well for that industry, mostly because your weather includes rainstorms, etc. LA weather is constant... always sunny and perfect for filming. The culture is also much more tolerant and accepting of differing ideas/creativity/innovation... that's another whole topic though.

"As the southern film industry continues to crumble".

You're out of your god damn mind if you think:

1. Southern Film Industry is crumbling. THIS IS THE NEXT HOLLYWOOD. If you flush your toilet in California, you go to jail for 3 to 5 years. We don't have that issue in Georgia.

2. NC or some sad state Louisiana can't provide anything better than Georgia can. NC? Are you serious?

You know Porsche? They're the most calculative race in this entire world. They've decided to build their HQ in Atlanta. You know why? Because this is the place that's going to rise up against all other states.

Full media? What does that mean? Atlanta is headquarters to the following national tv stations:

TBS,
TNT,
CNN (which includes CNN International, CNN en Español, CNN Headline News, CNN Airport Network),
TCM,
The Cartoon Network,
Boomerang,
The Weather Channel

Other than WGN, what national tv stations or cable stations are headquartered in Chicago? Are you talking about market share?

No, it's quite the opposite of crumbling.

No, there is Hollywood and there is everything else.

If you sell a toilet that doesn't meet code standards for Haiti, you could sell it here....

The sheer stupidity and ignorance of some people in the state of California never ceases to amaze ... especially San Francisco, where the only things that matter are sunshine and tolerance.

Bless your heart!

If you're separating film and TV, Atlanta is hardly a one-trick pony.
