You are STILL trying to make fetch happen. I just looked at both and the irony is "black Democrats", but this is funny thing is the error of the polling in both focuses on this quoted group. However, this still does not comply with the narrative that "blacks are opposed to marriage equality". We are overall ambivalent about the topic. Give it up because you are only showing that you don't know much about black Americans outside of novice articles and casual interactions.

The topic at hand is this white social conservative Trojan horse fronting as "religious freedom" but is just another (clever) way to marginalized everyone but white heterosexual males...

Arjay - As they say on the ESPN NFL coverage - COME ON MAN!

The gallup poll was taken in 2008, that's 8 years ago, so nothing to see there.

Regarding the article you referenced if you or anyone else thinks the repubs with either Trump or Cruz as nominees are going to get anywhere near 20% of the black vote you are seriously misinformed. Either of those two will be lucky to get anything north of 2-3%. Kasich might flirt with what Romney got back in 2012 and that was 7% or so.

Again COME ON MAN!

Oh, I'm not suggesting blacks are lining up for Trump or Cruz.

I only mentioned those articles because you asked for additional data about views on gay marriage.

Obviously polls only address percentages and not individual opinions.

The Human Rights Campaign Fund has asked Hollywood to avoid the state if the legislation becomes law.

"Disney and its Marvel Studios film unit will not film future movies in Georgia if a controversial bill that critics contend would legalize anti-gay discrimination is signed by that state's governor.

"Disney and Marvel are inclusive companies, and although we have had great experiences filming in Georgia, we will plan to take our business elsewhere should any legislation allowing discriminatory practices be signed into state law," a company spokesman said Wednesday.

Marvel has filmed such movies as Ant-Man and the upcoming Captain America: Civil War and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 in Atlanta, taking advantage of Georgia's attractive tax incentives. While Disney's statement specifically mentioned Marvel, other Disney units like ABC Studios and Disney Studios would also take part in the boycott.

On March 19, Chad Griffin, HRC president, appearing at a fund-raising dinner in Los Angeles, urged Hollywood to speak out against the bill, asking filmmakers to boycott the state if the bill becomes law.

“I know we have many entertainment industry leaders in the room tonight," said Griffin. "Like other states, Georgia offers tax incentives for TV and film productions, and as a result, the entertainment industry has a huge economic footprint in the state. But if this bill is signed into law, your employees, your contractors — all those working on your production are at risk of state-sanctioned discrimination. That is wrong. It’s un-American. It’s an affront on all the values Hollywood prides itself on...”

But the prevailing, popular humanist/secular belief is that such act is wrong and it is unjustified murder no matter what any holy text says or not, and therefore he should be thrown right in jail. Which means essentially he is forced to accept the prevailing beliefs. As he should be.

Some ideas are simply better than others, in that they lead to healthier and happier individuals and societies.

People should be forced to accept the enlightened modern liberal beliefs about racism or antisemitism. Your private thoughts are all your own, but you can't not serve the Blacks or the Jews at your hotel or whatever.

Basically the same thing when it comes to gay civil rights and how we as general society treat gay people. You can believe same-sex love or marriage is morally wrong, and you can preach that at your church. In the public environment however, you shouldn't be able to fire your employee just because you found out he was married to a man, and you shouldn't be able to put up a sign in the window of your business that says "LGBT not served here", just because you hold a sincere belief.

Your religious liberty stops where other people's lives begin. And their right to fair treatment and such.

Anyway, going back to the bill on the Governor's desk: the compromise version specifically deals with gay weddings, and specifically says that it's OK for a business to discriminate against them. So in other words, in a practical sense, it would strip LGBT engaged couples of the right to conduct their wedding normally, as a straight couple would be able to do. At best, the LGBT couple would have to find non-discriminating services for every function that they need, such as photographer, etc.

Most of us do not believe gay people are second class or they should be treated differently in our society, so we oppose this legislation for that reason, and we hope that Deal will veto it.
No. That's called contradicting yourself. You believe individuals should be forced to accept YOUR beliefs and not vice versa.

Random hypotheticals are truly pointless. When such a bill or instance occurs, then we can discuss it.

In regards to a happier, healthier individuals and societies, I suggest you do some research on both. Statistical evidence strongly suggests the exact opposite is true as it relates LGBT issues.

None of the race related issues or examples you mentioned are relevant as not one of them requires a Christian to participate in anything that is clearly defined as against Christian morals.

Again, this has nothing to do with a belief that gay people are second class citizens. It has to do with a belief that what God says about the issue of marriage what is true and that God's way is always best.

I find it very entertaining how the State of Georgia is being bullied into submission. To see some of Atlanta's top boosters now cheering for Atlanta's downfall over this is fun to watch. People want to see all the fortune 500 companies leave the state, people want the movie studios to leave all in attempt to bully the state politicians not to make state laws. Sadly this sort of agenda only works for certain groups. We all know who really runs Hollywood and its not the gays. Makes one wonder if all these companies would put up this much fuss for muslims or asians if there was some law they didnt like. Interesting stuff.

Well your god's way isn't everyone's way so you're forcing your beliefs on others too. The government should be SECULAR.
