(Note: This is a thread about speculation about SunTrust Park itself, not whether it should have been built, whether it should have been built there, funding issues, whether it needs a MARTA connection, etc.)

How do you guys think SunTrust Park is going to prior Braves' homes? Things such as:
-Whether it's going to be a pitcher's park like the Ted or a hitter's park like AFCS
-The architecture inside the stadium
-The architecture outside the stadium
-The pre- and post-game atmosphere outside the stadium
-Concession options
-Ticket prices, both lower-end and upper-end
-Whether they're finally gonna get rid of the tomahawk chop!
etc.

Tomahawk chop isn't going anywhere

Pre-game and post-game will be much better due to all the bars and restaurants that have signed on, as opposed to the desert at Turner.

I think it will still be more of a pitchers-park.

Atmosphere will be much more fun due to the smaller capacity. Turner Field never felt like a baseball park due to the conversion from the Olympic park. Just way too big of a seating capacity and cavernous for 81 home games. It won't feel empty anymore when they have 30,000 in attendance.

Well, since I'm about to move a mile away from there, I'm hoping that The Battery is truly a bustling year-round thing, with really good restaurants, and good music at the new Roxy.

Also I'm probably going to have a good view of the fireworks, so that could be cool.

The team has to be good again, for any of this to matter. Put Greg Maddux back in there.

That is one thing about the Ted--its size. I didn't think this before, but I wish they had put the 755 Club where the right field upper-deck is. That probably would have shaved about 5000 seats off the 49,000-seat capacity (and given many fans a better view of the Atlanta skyline, something we never got at all in AFCS).

I haven't heard anything yet about the outfield dimensions. Turner Field has very deep power allies, which I think is the main reason it's generally a pitchers' park.

Personally do not care enough about the team or park to even do research on the things listed by the OP. I will see a game here, so I do not care about any of that stuff.

That was actually the original plan, but capacity was bumped when attendance soared during the World Series runs in 1995-96.

Heard those would be similar to the Ted.

I agree with that and am looking forward to the new complex. It should be a great addition to the ATL.
