Publix knows its business. They aren't going to operate anything that's not profitable. Plus, they research the heck out of locations, so they must think it's not going to turn any time soon.

Odd, I would think it would be a great location. It probably really is just cannibalization, the other locations must be easier to get to.

I think the parking situation less than ideal for a supermarket at the Prado.

There's a big parking garage right next to it and the Target. This is a bummer because that's the closest Publix to where I live.

I agree. One hundred eighty-six of Publix Super Markets' 1,212 stores are in Georgia. That is more than Kroger's Georgia store count. Three stores are in development statewide.

I used that Publix when I was combining a Target/Publix trip, but it was one of those miniaturized Publix layouts and that always frustrated me a bit. There was plenty of parking, but it was in a deck and that was probably a turn-off for some people.

I wonder what will go in that spot.

Yes...plenty of parking, but just not ideal for what most suburban supermarket shoppers are looking for. For this store, it looks like you have to walk down a 100' long entry, cross a road, go into a parking garage, and load from there. Difficult? No, not really...but not what that customer market is looking for. Certainly didn't help.

Is that for sure? If so, will the Aldi's just North on Roswell Rd. Close or will there be two Aldi's two miles apart?
