What about Arena Quarter or Arena Sector. Generic enough to outlast any name change and inclusive enough for whatever events held at the GWCC.

Bankhead needs to be renamed to Quarry Park or Westside Park. The name Bankhead scares people, not even joking.

It only scares white folks. Smart folks know the history of Bankhead and his creation of national roads in the early 20th century. And it is an iconic name for Atlanta.

If Quarry Yards wants to buy a sponsorship of the station, I say let MARTA sell it to them and call the station Quarry Yards/Westside Reservoir Park.

Geesh...I need Terminus to get it together. I know other cities have similar issues, but it's on a whole 'nother level in Marthasville.

If anyone is scared by the name, it's most likely due to crime that occurred and was on the news.

Fortunately, if you read up on the history of local neighborhoods, you will then have no fear or reason to worry, because that's how people of color are staying safe there now.

I would actually rename Bankhead to Hollowell since it specifically serves that corridor.

And then ideally, extend the line by another station closer to West Marietta St, and call that new one Westside Park.

Yep.

One of Atlanta's charms is that neighborhoods have official boundaries and legal meaning in our city. Unless there are multiple stations in a neighborhood, the stations should just be named after the neighborhoods they are in.

On that note, Bankhead/Howell Station sounds good to me. Yes it's in Howell Station but Bankhead's right across the street.

I liked what MARTA did with the East Line stations splitting boundaries, using both neighborhood names.

I know it's an unpopular name but Sono for civic center if the city wants help shape the identity of Sono.

Other names for Civic Center:
Peachtree-Pine
Emory University Hospital Midtown( if Emory wants to sponsor)
Centennial Hill( may be too confusing with the existence of COP)
