On that note, Bankhead/Howell Station sounds good to me. Yes it's in Howell Station but Bankhead's right across the street.
East Lake Station is literally a point of convergence for a half dozen of those neighborhoods with official boundaries and legal distinctions. Kirkwood/Oakhurst/Druid Hills/Parkwood/Lenox Place/Lake Claire Station is a bit of a mouthful.

Also, if they name them after people, that would be utter B.S. (and H.E. Holmes should've been renamed to "Holmes Drive."
I agree on that, especially since they have changed the names of some library branches that used to be named after people and are now named for their neighborhoods.

Why do they want to rename the MARTA stations?

Why does Bankhead need to be renamed?

It was named after Tallulah Bankhead's father. You gotta love that.

I mean, it has a bad rep and could use a refresh, especially with the new TOD development coming and the new park and new creek trail. The highway it serves is no longer called Bankhead either, and the neighborhood Bankhead is just a bunch of boarded-up rotten shacks with trash and debris in the front yard. Looks post-apocalyptic along some of those streets.

And that--should go back to being called Bankhead Avenue and Bankhead Highway.
