Our family may be transferring to Ga, and from what we've heard, probably to the Stone Mountain area. We're in Fl now, and are looking forward to the change! Would that be a good place to live? Or is there an area near there that may be a better house hunting choice? Better schools? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks All!

Why specifically Stone Mountain? I lived there briefly when I first moved to GA and it was ok. Nothing more to offer than any other metro atlanta suburb. Watch out for those reversible lanes!

I transfered for work in Stone Mountain a little over one year ago and bought in Grayson. We love it here, it is close to everything, the drive to Stone Mountain using back roads is 20-30 minutes. I recommend you take a look....

Default Would not reccomend Stone Mountain

Stone Mountain is not the ideal spot if you are going to working in atlanta. Schools used to be good here but have declined over the past years. Breakins and crime are on the rise and just not easy to get anywhere from here with the growth. Suggest inside the perimeter of 285.
I have lived here 30 years and hate it over the last five.
