I think any calls of racism from a State takeover of MARTA could be nullified if a leader who gifted in speech and well-nuanced in matters of Southern culture and sub-culture would speak to the people on the importance of mass transit to the future of Georgia's children. I'm talking a FDR/JFK type of speech.

That may be too much to ask for from the current crop of Georgia leadership. But if Barack can get elected to the U.S. with his gift of the gab, maybe someone with a similar gift of the tongue can do the same in Georgia. One can hope, anyways..

I Live in clayton I would not mine being taxed for good transit and services one cent will not make a big difference on what I but instead of 34.06 it will be 34.07 a big difference ooooh

That is not how it works. It is an extra percent (penny). Let's say you buy something that costs $100. If the sales tax pre-MARTA was 7% you would pay $7 in taxes. With the extra tax for MARTA your tax would be 8% so you would pay $8 in tax.
