so, it's basically the area where I-85 runs through. how about downtown historic norcross? we're really interested in hedgewood homes, and they have a new development there on the corner of holcomb bridge and thrasher.

Here's a link to an AJC forum: 'Norcross Talk'>>

You might get some FYI there.

Take it from a nearly lifelong Gwinnettian, You are smart for putting your kid in private school (Greater Atlanta Christian is a VERY good school, from what I understand). Yes Gwinnett public schools are still the best in the state, but the state is DEAD LAST IN THE NATION! And as far as the traffic, it pretty much STINKS, So I would suggest telecommuting whenever possible. Either that, or learn the backroads if You have to commute!

The reason why Georgia is ranked low (not the dead last as radioactive suggested) is that there are a lot of poor performing rural schools and a lot of subpar inner city schools. As atlanta start gentifying, many inner suburb schools are also suffered. There are several low performance schools in South Gwinnett areas. However, there are many good schools in gwinnett on west side (Duluth, Suwanee). Simpson elementary in Norcross is also pretty good. There are some good schools in Brookwood school district as well.

Just be care when choosing a good area. Like I post before, Atlanta housing market is still affordable, but the area with good schools are not that affordable as people are paying a premium for those schools.
