What do you think (especially those who attended an AUC school)?

BYU has a dress code as well. When I went to school there, you could not wear jeans to class.

I think that it makes sense, after all, when you leave college, you are "prepared" to work, and you certianly cannot wear PJ's, or cross dress to most places of employment.

I agree. College should prepare students for the working world. The dress code is only for school, they still the freedom to dress as they want during non-school hours.

Based on what they're not allowing in the code, it sounds like Morehouse had started to look like a hip-hop club, so I don't blame them one bit.

Morehouse College is a private institution and if they wish to institute a dress code for any reason, they are entitled to do it.
I don't even know why this is newsworthy, except for the sensational aspects.

I was actually quite surprised when I heard about this. When I attended the House, it was a given that we took our hats off indoors or not dress like hoodlums. I don't even want to find out what this women's clothes thing is all about. This is a good thing for the school.

I think this is a great idea. Baggy pants are out of style anyway and look silly. This will also make it alot easier for security to figure out who belongs and who does not, which is a great reason for this to spread to other college campuses.

Good. I'm tired of the brothas sagging their pants like they're ready for a good time at Central State Prison, if y'all get my drift.

It's time for Morehouse to get back to its traditional roots of developing men that can think for themselves, and get away from being unthinking, zombiefied followers chasing every hip hop corporatized fad.

i heard about this article through several friends before this post, but they didn't interpret the new dress code in the way that others in this post commented. they soley talked about the portion requiring no women's clothes, pumps, and purses. basically, they think Morehouse is releasing this policy to crack down on any "cross dressing" that's happening on campus. the article alludes to the fact that some student's believe the dress code is a way to target the gay students on campus by prohibiting women's clothing. basically, i heard of this article through several none morehouse grads who thought of this as a joke that morehouse apparently has so many men cross dressing that they need to inact a new policy. they actually believe the sagging pants, etc. is a front and that's not the real issue

what are other's thoughts? I would love to hear from the morehouse men on this one.
