There are some very good spots on 141 that are not chains. Check out Trattoria One41, Viande Rouge and numerous other great restaurants.

For you northern burb-folks: just had lunch at the new BBQ please - City Barbecue - on Peachtree Parkway and Johns Creek Parkway. Astoundingly delicious! My wife had the ribs - delicious - and I had the pulled pork - delicious.

Barberito's is coming to Ashley Park in Newnan.

This will also be the first Southside location.

BTW, as the article states, Poke City will also be opening its first Southside location in Newnan at Ashley Park.

Afro-Caribbean restaurant ‘Rock Steady’ comes to West Midtown

A new restaurant aims to bring “the vibrant cuisines of the West Indies” to life in West Midtown.

Rock Steady, an Afro-Caribbean restaurant and bar from Joe Russo and Jacob Thomas, opens Nov. 6 at 907 Marietta Street. It replaces the former Figo Pasta.

The menu includes braised jerk chicken, Kreyol seafood curry, brown stew lamb shank and black pepper pappardelle pasta..."

Review: Stop at gas station, fuel up on Mexican halal at Taquería La Costeñita

Some folks say you should never buy food from a gas station. I gladly broke that hard-and-fast rule when I drove to the Shell gas station on Buford Highway just south of Clairmont Road to fuel up at Taquería La Costeñita.

La Costeñita has been open for a little over a month, serving tacos, tortas and other Mexican handhelds out of a counter inside the gas station..."
