My thoughts exactly. Nothing is going there until the crime gets cleaned up and people feel safe.

I've never felt unsafe there and never heard anyone say they felt unsafe going to a Braves game. 1am on a non game night might be different.

At Least there is a mass transit option to get to the game and as much as I'd like taking the train straight there the shuttle actually works really well. As I mentioned a chicago resident last year was commenting that it was so much better then Wrigley field in how quickly and efficently you can get out of the turner field area via the shuttle.

Its not as if no one takes Marta to games, Many people do, at least the games I go to they do.

What is left to "clean up" over there? It's been bulldozed over and turned into parking lots for about 45 years now.

Like I mentioned earlier, there USED to be thriving neighborhoods there. They just need to be rebuilt, and wala - a new version of Wrigleyville could happen.

That's because you're with the crowd walking from Marta to the ball game. Get out of that crowd and walk around the neighborhood alone and see how safe you feel.

If you try that, let me know when you wake up in Grady. I'll send flowers....assuming you do WAKE UP at Grady.

very interesting. It sucks when a destination has no rail, and some rail spot have nothing near them like H E Holmes.

You can say the same thing about the Georgia Dome. There really isn't anything amenity(sp?) wise around it and it is located near what can be considered a bad part of town(Vine City). It would be great if little bar districts would spring up near the stadiums but i don't hold my breath.

i think something like Atlantic station is way too much for that area. I would be happy with a chain(Applebees or CHilis) but I doubt it could survive one off season. Turner field is just in an unfortunate place in so many aspects.

Sure there is, you just need to hop in your car and go somewhere else "nearby." Sorry, Atlanta doesn't do "walking distance." (sad but true)
