175k passengers in the first four months of 2011... AGS had 500k(passenger record) people use in the airport in 2010...

Airport: Masters Week Delta flights netted more passengers | The Augusta Chronicle
For all airlines, the airport reported 57,734 total passengers in April, up 7.7 percent from a year ago.

Year to date, Augusta Regional has had 175,406 total passengers, which is up 20.1 percent from last year at the end of April. Part of that increase stems from the existence of American Eagle, which was not yet flying into Augusta in April 2010.

More than 5,400 passengers took flights on Delta out of Augusta in May, according to data from Augusta Regional Airport. May marked the return of Delta mainline flights to Atlanta, in addition to regional carrier Atlantic Southeast Airlines.

On the whole, Augusta Regional traffic was 23.5 percent higher than May 2010. The airport is running 20.8 percent higher on total passengers year to date than in 2010.

I am happy to report Delta and American Airlines announced that they will have regular flights to regional from Baltimore, MD

Made me happy considering we will use these often =)

I think you meant to put Atlanta and Charlotte instead of Columbia, SC.. American Eagle is the other airline and they fly back and forth to Dallas, TX.. I've heard about the future non stop flights to both DC and New York, but not the flights to Baltimore.. Unless the airport officials were considering BWI instead of the Dulles airport as the DC flights...

Do you an link to share??

Default Augusta James Brown International Airport

I have completed my study and I have determined Augusta should extend runway 35 to 9000 ft by 150 ft, keep runway 8 at 6001 ft by 75 ft and add an additional runway that will be 9000 ft by 150 ft, the purpose is to accommodate larger aircraft. As you notice the land to east of the new airport, it could be used as an international gateway for cargo from Savannah and 2 of the worlds largest golf cart produces which are both located in Augusta.

The red are the taxiways

I was out that way today... and the sign on the fence says it's the "17/35 runway expansion/revitalization" or something along those lines. Possibly a staging area for equipment next to the runway so far... not much else.

Personally, I miss the connection to Newark, NJ. I think flights to large metropolitan areas such as NYC , Miami, and Washington DC would be quite popular. Such connections would also give us more access to international flights.
