Well the Holiday Inn Express & Suites isn't on hold since they plan to break ground in a few months... The state of the economy(delays because of financing) have nothing to do with the government.... Blame the economy if local projects around town get push back.. The majority of projects are moving forward. The only project really on hold is the Hyatt.. I mean projects where the developer has everything completed except for the financing..

The following things are under construction: the several airport projects, 34 condos at the Whites Building, Village at Riverwatch, Electrolux new facility/National Hills parking improvements, Broad street lighting/camera/sidewalk, 3rd level Augusta Canal waterway, TEE center, parking deck, Village Plaza renovation, Dental school, Kroc Center, Cherry street shopping center, Alexander Drive, Hampton Inn, Paine College HEAL facility, Buffalo Wild Wings, Saint Sebastian/15th street part, Morgan rd widening, etc..

The following things are starting construction this year: Lofts at Marbury, 25 acre shopping center, Flowing Wells Business Park, medical office building on Walton Way/Saint Sebastian, Dennys, Augusta west studio, Four Points by Sheraton, a upscale hotel near Four Points, Belair rd widening, James Brown Boulevard/9th street improvements, etc... I also think the 15th street widening begins sometime this year...

Well norton guy that gives me a little hope ...... It's just sad to think of your city as 2nd tier when it has major city possibility. What's the word on the James brown arena isn't it being demolished or renovated? And where is this 25 acre shopping center located again and what is the major retailer?

The 25 acre shopping center is located on Jimmie Dyess... They've cleared a portion of the land a while back.

No.... But considering the surrounding demographics and size of the shopping center... Target, Publix, Kroger, etc could all be possibilities... Southwest Augusta is growing pretty fast and it's definitely one of the fastest growing areas in Richmond County...
