Not responding to you personally...would have quoted you if I were. My initial response back at post #7(before you posted) still holds.

My post was to the OP, and I was not intending to be "a jerk", but there is no way that I can answer the poll question without knowing what I'm being asked, and it's not clear as asked. I'm old enough to have learned a long time ago what assuming can do, and I try, not always successfully, granted, to avoid doing so and assuming that I know what the asker means if it's at all unclear when asked a question like this.

If the idea is to have gondolas strung out all across the city, I would say, absolutely not, that would be an abomination from a lot of perspectives. As would having gondolas across the river.

If it's to have gondolas as a way to get around downtown north of the river, or from parking lots immediately outside of downtown (over by UT, say) to get TO downtown, while I personally wouldn't be likely to use them because I avoid downtown like the plague these days, I can see how they would be a really good alternative for getting around down there or parking just outside of downtown and going downtown without having to find parking there.

Sorry, I hadn't thought yours was being a jerk at all, and actually I didn't say anyone was being "a jerk". Regardless, your posts aren't that way, IMO.

Air conditioned, absolutely. But then wouldn't the vagrants spend all day in there?

I would take ANY public transportation if it were convenient (i.e. didn't need three transfers and 2 hours to go 15 miles) and if I were able to actually walk (safely) to more than just a few places or one strip mall once I got off.
