This area seriously needs another location.
The one in North Austin is like a dream compared to the ones I visited in California. Those were packed at all times.

I come from the land of Costco. I had one of at least 3 that I could easily go to at a moments notice, and a short drive would probably open up at 3-4 other ones... Kirkland, their signature brand, was a city I drove through on a daily basis - lol.

If it's a weekend, I just jump on Mopac and drive to the one off of William Cannon in South Austin. It's MUCH less crowded than the North Austin one. Weekend traffic is light, so it only takes an extra 12 minutes. It's worth it to be able to push a cart around freely in Costco on a Saturday or Sunday when the North location is packed.

I love Costco, I haven't visited the one in Austin yet but they are the best place ever!

Hi guys... I'm new to this forum.

Rumor has it, Costco may build a store at the SE corner of 1431 and 183a. The LedgeStone group is developing a large shopping center at that quadrant of the intersection. A Costco was also proposed for the NE Corner of 183 and 620/SH45 (behind the Chair King/Golds Gym). Apparently that did not come to pass. An HEB Plus is now planned for that area.

I would love that!

I switch between the north and south Austin Costco locations. The former has a gasoline station which usually has very competitive prices. Lately that has not been the case because of their hedging when buying from their supplier. After they have gone through that allotment, they will again be amongst the cheapest places to buy gas. The south location offers a slightly more upscale variety of products particularly in the fresh and frozen food sections.

I miss the Costco home store we had in Seattle. They had a nice selection of furniture and tv's. Kinda like an upscale ikea.

I asked a manager at CC today and he said it was a "Rumor" and a fat Maybe.. Don't hold your breath for it.

Most cities only have a few, we already have 2 so they are probably waiting for a bit more in population prior to opening a new store...
