This is not a joke, nor anything with nasty overtones(think US Senators). Just simply some of the more unique places to relieve oneself from all those
beers/foods partaken of in a city with so much need for use of the same.
So many outdoor eateries, and bars, and so little time. And, being Austin, there are some "different" ones.
A few come to mind......

Shady Grove has a weird one....essentially an old trailer, with a very ambiant,
homey atmosphere.

this is a radical restroom on Flickr - Photo Sharing! (http://www.flickr.com/photos/skito/178835696/ - broken link)

Many have interesting little "tidbits" written on the walls, call it bathroom reading, if you will. Not just the usual supects, coffeehouses, but many
of the bars and restaurants as well. Such pearls of wisdom can be gleaned,
and many life lessons can be learned, while you are preoccupied.

Austin Public Restrooms (http://austin.about.com/b/2003/07/13/austin-public-restrooms.htm - broken link)

My absolute favorite? The one in Opal Devines on south congress. So funky. with a virtual museum of mosaics. The sink is one giant mosaic, and it is a
sin to wash one's hands in such grandeur, but an honor as well.

Some honorable mentions:

The Broken Spoke - Texas Flags in place of stall doors. Who would have thunk?

Emo's, which has a CBGB's, malevolent air about it, befitting the nilhilistic
tunes emanating from the same.

This SHOULD be somewhere in Austin...a more highbrow place like Bookpeople could use this one.

Willie surely must have Antone's perfectly utilitarian stalls on his list of faves,
as it is a great place to sneak a quick puff in between sets.

The new Starbucks on Lamar has this convenient one for techies in a hurry, totally befitting Austin's most wired status.

All public restroom should have this handy. on a chain, of course.

So, where are YOUR public bathroom faves?
