This has all happened within the last hour. So latest update before they went to an encrypted channel... *This is all from APD Scanner:

At least 16 confirmed people shot. There were unconfirmed reports of up to 26, but it was unknown if victims were being double counted.

At least one victim is deceased as APD asked for homicide detectives. CPR was also being performed on at least one victim.

Shooting stemmed from a fight outside of a bar at 400 E. 6th St, where at least two people began shooting at each other.

Somebody was detained by officers, unknown if it is a suspect or related in any way. It sounds as if at least one, if not both shooters may still be on the loose.

One suspect was described as a skinny black male, dreads, black t-shirt, dark cap, tan jacket, jeans and light or white shoes.

There probably wont be any other updates until an official press release occurs. All radio traffic was moved to an encrypted channel.

I 'LITERALLY' just left that area minutes before it happened. I had a pickup on 6th. Talk about luck. My passenger started talking about it while we were getting off MoPac and FM2222 as he was told by someone he knew that it happened right after we left.

Pretty F*'d Up.

Dirty 6th has been that way since the turn of the century. It is not a place to brag about in the tourist destination industry.

I will never understand why Texans are in favor of mass shootings.

The state legislature just wiped out what few gun laws existed under the theory that the more guns are available, the better. So, where was the good guy with a gun who was supposed to stop the bad guy with a gun?
