We had our Lexus driver side window smashed in at Barton Creek Mall
and the GPS stolen in broad daylight. (between 5 and 7:30 PM) last week.

so just a warning .... don't leave your GPS or another valuables in plain view
or your car parked too far out in the lot at malls to protect against dents
because you might get more than a dent.

Good advice, seems like that would be common sense. Sorry to hear about your car.

Wow, that's terrible. Thanks for the heads up. That mall always seems pretty safe to me.

Yeah, we've had our antenna stolen while shopping there as well as the chrome caps off our tires' air valves.

Thankfully they didn't smash and grab but it is an inconvenience having to replace things.

Sorry that happened to you. Normally it is a relatively safe mall, but more and more people continue to move here. Never know what you're gonna get wherever you are.

What does more and more people continue to move here have to do with smash and grab crimes? Are you suggesting that property crimes like these are being committed by newcomers?

I see your point although as cities grow crime rates unfortunately climb as well.
I'm sure that the current economy doesn't help.
I hope that whoever broke in can use the 70 bucs or so that they'll get on Ebay or whatever, as naive as that sounds.

This seems to be a pretty common occurrence... perhaps a honey pot would be a good way to start curtailing the funny business.

Crime does grow as populations grow.

I've been noticing the rise in crime in tandem with all the recent growth myself.
