How many of you still go inside the gas station to pay for your gas? Personally I hate going inside convenience stores, and I haven't in several years. It never fails, I always got stuck behind the smoker buying cigarettes, and it's the usual "oh I don't want those, I want the ultra lights 100's" blah blah, then the clerk has to find them. . To make it worse, these people leave their vehicles parked at the gas pump while theyre inside for 10 minutes. It drives me crazy!

If the pay at pump feature isn't working, I'll get back in my car and drive to the next station before I'll go inside. I know the store owners hate people like me because they make their money off of overpriced snacks, drinks, and cigarettes.

I always pay at the pump. I get a 5% discount with the Penfed credit card and one has to pay at the pump...

I can't recall the last time that I had to go into a station's office/convenience store in order to pay.
Some time in the deep, dark past, I had to do this, but it was so long ago that I can't recall exactly when it was.

I always pay at the pump- went inside a convenience store once last Fall to use the bathroom on a road trip after gassing up, but didn't buy anything- and otherwise haven't been in one in years. As another poster mentioned, if the pay at the pump feature is not working for some reason I'll go to a different pump or to a completely different station if I need to rather than going inside to pay.

You think convenience stores are bad, try the fuel desk at one of the major truck stop chains! Thankfully my company uses fuel and go now so I don't have to go inside and get a receipt anymore. You also forgot to mention lottery ticket people. THEY take forever.

There should be a seperate line in every gas station for lottery buyers. Especially the ones who buy in bulk.

"Yes, I'd like 1 of that scratch-off, and 2 of this one, and one of that one there, and can I see that one? No, not that one the one next to it. And I'd like one quick pick take 5, two numbers, one quick pick, the other 654321, and two MegaMillions, one with a cash payout, the other monthly, and a Powerball and what's that come to? Oops I don't have enough, let me think!"

THe station where I prefer to buy gas is usually not even open when I get gas. They just leave the pumps on (but turn off the lights so it can be hard to operate the pumps sometimes.
