to me racing is racing, and i like it all, except perhaps demolition derby. but for off road, something like the paris to dakar run or the baja 1000 gets me going.

What's Walter Röhrl doing nowadays? Little stuff, like piloting the new Porsche 918 around the Nürburgring in under 7 minutes.

AMA & FIM MotoX, Hare Scrambles and AMA or FIM SuperMoto. Bikes can go where cars cannot, not to mention they're about a million times as fun.

If you want to look at it purely from a spectator standpoint then I'd have to go with AMA MotoX just because it's more competitive.

It's quite a sphincter-tightening experience as you watch Higgins dance around the narrow road, inches away from completely sliding off the side of the mountain. It's especially tense when he reaches the short gravel section, where the narrowness of the dirt path is magnified further.

It's been a good year for the Higgins family. Besides setting the new hillclimb record, Higgins has also won his 4th consecutive Rally America championship. And his brother, Mark, set the new production car record on the Snaefall Mountain Course, which is better known as the setting for the Isle of Man TT motorcycle race:

(It's not an off-road race, but it's still remarkable nevertheless)
