BMW E30-type of the 3 series. They were almost "truck-like" tough, easy to work on and reliable. Now it's a different story with the 3 series BMW and questionable reliability and outrageous maintenance costs.

None. What a horrible decade for American cars.

I had a 1980 Datsun 280 ZX and I thought I was the coolest guy on the planet. Ha Ha.

I also have to agree on the Full size Ford Bronco, Chevy K5 Blazer and Dodge Ramcharger and Jeep Grand Wagoneer all steller 4x4's and classic old school SUV's that had (in some trims) very nice near luxury features while still being rugged and reliable

We had a 1988 Cutlass Calais with a ground effects package that we bought off the floor of the NY Auto Show at the Javitz Center.

Loved that car, but then we did the family-style minivan thing.

Also really enjoyed my 1986 Mazda B2000 pickup truck. Took that thing from new up to 250K before letting it go for a newer vehicle.
