Soooo, stopped at a gas station with about 16 pumps today at a fairly busy truckstop in the midwest.
Took a couple minutes to finally get an open pump.
About half the pumps were not in use, but had cars parked in front of them.
One couple walked out to their car and then STARTED fueling while I was there and another finished fueling then walked in and left their car sitting in front of the pump.
Anyone else ever notice this? Most of the time it's not a big deal but the place was pretty busy so a lot of us were waiting for a place to open up.
Just kinda bizarre to watch, I guess I shouldn't be surprised that people are either too dumb or self absorbed to know better.
So...they went inside to pay for their gas and no one else can use it till they do that anyway and you're upset with them? Not everyone uses the card swipers. Gas stations are one of the more common places to find card skimmers.
When you pay cash, you have to prepay. I have also been to stations that are lazy about keeping receipt paper stocked in the pumps, so I've had to go inside for my receipt.
Just tend to your business and stop worrying about what everyone else is doing.
just because you dont like it, doesnt mean i have to fill my car up with gas, and then drive it 20ft instead of going inside the building to get the things i want and need. live with it.
I know your pain Mathguy. One of are local gas stations (always has the cheapest gas) is constantly swamped with drivers. Sure enough there are people that fill up the car, walk in to the station and come out with some food and drinks, then just sit there and do what ever it is that there doing for awhile. Normally there on the phone or eating. Is it frustrating, yeah. But it's just something you have to deal with.

There are places that require you pay for your purchase before you move the vehicle and honestly if this incident is your biggest concern of the day I would consider it a pretty good day...
Went to a morning stop at a bagel shop where a guy habitually parked his Mercedes square in front of the door to the store. It might have been surprising if it was a Chevy, but those stars, you know?
What I like is at a busy station and people waiting for a pump to open up people slowly clean their windshield, move real slow, it takes them a minute to get in their car and fasten the seat belt and finally slowly pull out.
I've seen people pump gas then go hit the can and load up on chow then eat it all in the car before leaving. I'm surprised they didn't just stay the night and treat it as a free camping spot at that point.
