Probably the most ridiculous thing to ask Japanese to buy American cars and US Automakes to make cars that appeal to Japanese market.
For one thing, US does not make good quality compacts. Very little lifestyle cars which caters to Japanese buyers.
In Japan, minivans are very popular. While they may not be as large as American size minivans, Japanese like MPVs and wagons.
Japanese are more pickier than Americans, Japanese car makers produce many different variety of models than here in the US.
I doubt GM or Ford would ever create a vehicle specifically for Japanese market.
Kei cars make a third of the market in Japan. Seeing as how Ford will only sell the Mustang car here they will never make a kei class car that is smaller than the Fiesta, they do sell the Ka in the UK, to sell in Japan.
I read an article that the closest thing to a kei car in the US is the Polaris Ranger.
Can we stop crapping on American cars please? Model T was the first official car ever, thank you very much.
No, it wasn't. It wasn't even the first official FORD car ever. It first arrived in 1908 and cars had officially been being made in this country for over a decade at that point. Oldsmobile had been in business making cars for almost a decade in 1908. Ford had already started one company (that booted him out of the company and ended up becoming Cadillac) and was on his SECOND car company by the time the Model T arrived. The production model immediately before the Model T was the Model S, an upgraded version of the company's largest success to that point, the Model N. the Model T was, however, the first production car made on a moving assembly line with interchangeable parts.
Any reasons to continue to allow cars to be sold in the US from Europe, Japan, or Korea owned companies? Toyota and BMW make cars in the US... so...
